I'm starting my next map - a map of the World in 1789 upon the eve of the French Revolution. However, this one will be a bit different to normal world maps due to the fact that there is a separate European Theater, one bonus per territory, and a few other things as well.

If you would like to go on the list for testing, reply in this thread and I'll add you.

I love the idea. However some things need some pretty big changing:
The bonus values are far too high and uneaven- they should go across a much smaller range. Why? Too high bonus values means that conquering one territory results in a massive economic change meaning players can spiral out of control extremely quickly doubling or even tripling their income in one turn. I found this in my map 'East Asia Diplomacy' (https://www.warlight.net/Map/14408-East-Asia-Diplomacy) where the problem made it practically unplayable (hence the rating of 2.5). It has been fixed since. Consider halving all the values (like on my map) or something similar.

I find myself in a bit of an impossible situation, MrOobling. You see, when you make bonus' values based on the amount of territories within them, you get complaints about how it's not realistic, and when you make them based on what they would realistically be worth, yoou get complaints about how it's not a balanced map, so that problem will never be fixed. This time I've decided to put realism at the heart of the map, and yes, it will be pretty much unusable in normal games, but as a diplomacy map, I think it could be really successful. This is because having an empire now doesn't make a nation OP, and it also allows you to do local deployment properly, so it should hopefully be a really interesting map for players who want to accurately portray the time.

Well I just ran a quick test game on Single Player to check incomes, and it's good news. Despite having a much larger empire, Britain's income was still on the same scale as France's. Britain had just over 400, and France had just over 300, which is one of the main things I was trying to achieve here.

zxctycxz, even in diplomacy games, too unbalanced bonuses don't work well as it means countries almost completely focus on Europe which I guess is realistic. However, what it also means is that small European powers are able to expand quickly and unrealistically within Europe as they can conquer large bonuses around them. E.g. Switzerland- a relatively week country, could ally Prussia and Britain and defeat France gaining only a few territories but emmediately becomming a world power. It doesn't work as there aren't any 'peace deals' and you can annex the worlds largest country in one war. Also, you will always get unbalanced scenarios (even recomended ones) which people will abuse. Slightly reducing the territory values will still keep it realistic whilst also making it playable as something other than a very strict diplo.

I've tried not to just go for strict diplomacy maps with all my others, but to be honest, I want to make just one map that is a bit different. If I reduce the armies per turn on the European Territories, it will start to become more and more unrealistic, because the point of this is that the colonies don't give players massive incomes, meaning that powerful nations with small or no empires, such as France and Austria, will still be power. I've checked this by doing a single player test game, wherein France and Britain had similar incomes, despite the disparity in the size of their empires.

Two tips, based on my own experiences:
More than 500 bonuses is practically impossible, the lag will make you die of old age before you add bonus no. 501.
Having many territories in two pieces? It causes rendering issues and lag spikes, I just had one when I zoomed in on the smaller Europe.

Cool idea, on the bonus values too, but don't make the same mistakes I made.

I just not fathom...how can Jamaica be worth more than Sydney? Each of the islands in the Carribean need to be 1 or 2.

Жұқтыру: The Caribbean Colonies were the most valuable in the whole world at this point. It was noted that Britain's few islands in the Caribbean were "worth more than all the thirteen colonies combined" due to their perfect plantation conditions. The settlement of Australia only began one year before when this map is dated, 1788, and it was just a small penal population of a few thousand. Furthermore, most of the New South Wales territories had no Europeans at all, they were but claimed by the UK, which is why they are mostly worth 1.
