Vin we understand you don't have a life to tend to but other people do. You can't just expect people to be on WL every second of the day and you really can't expect all 8 people to be able to play during that same day.

furthermore they contradict their own principles
on one hand they want games to end quickly so they have low boot timing
and on the other hand they're not willing to surrender when they realize they've lost the game and add few more days to the now pointless game

they don't play like a team, they just play their own way of group 1v1 so they can chat while playing and call themselves as a team
in actual team games with templates that make you think i sometimes had conversations lasting an hour or 2 just for the picking stage

It's called trying to win by boot.

This thread is funny. I haven't read it all, but why don't you guys find some middle ground? Give Poon Squad their light fog, single territory, and 1-army neutrals, but use a 2 day boot. Or enable bank.

I rarely surrender but that's just a personal principle. Also in team games you can still make a huge difference if you're about to die. I respect the hell out of any player who fights to the end no matter what.

Shorter turns are a different animal. With 3 day turns, not only does the game take months to finish, you're also trying to make moves when the last turn is so far in the past that you probably don't even remember what's going on in that game.

this explains so much to me. i don't think you guys are bad people, i do enjoy playing games with you, and i have no criticism for the threads you make. but i entirely disagree with everything you have to say about the actual game.

you do have the power to play whatever settings you want, but the settings you regularly use definitely take away alot of the strategy.

im about to be in the finals of this tournament: https://www.warlight.net/MultiPlayer/Tournament?ID=13747 but i fully admit that every single game was won by pure luck.

i could spend a long ass post explaining why i think settings like this (and like your 8v8 ror) are not good for competition, but i don't have time, and most people already know why anyway.

War on poon Squad is actually an unintentional quadruple entendre.

1. Falcons going to war with poonsquad.

2. Diplomacy is known for the "Declare war before attacking. " a callback to a recent controversy over them in a diplomacy game.

3. Diplomacy is often considered unstrategic, like poonsquad games.

4. Diplomacy community is often scrutinized on the forums when criticism is due, like the poonsquad.

Damn, shots are being fired!

All I'm saying is we recently had a turn come up for a game that had been waiting for over 4 days (but everyone on our team had moved well within the first day) and I legitimately forgot we were still playing that game. Maybe it's just my short attention span but that's just too long to wait to play a game.

I definitely disagree that our settings involve any less strategy. But again, the beauty of this game is being able to customize it til you find a group of settings that works for you.

Seriously tho, being in Poonsquads clan round robin, I've never been booted once (even when moving and road trips) 1 day and 1 hour may be extreme to people who only check WL every two days. But to serious addicts who enjoy the game. They're probably on a lot.

And ouch Lolo, those are some serious shots fired. Even CORP may not be the most best 4v4 team players, but we even beat PS

Just because at least one person seems to care about my involvement in this: I'm visiting family this week so my WL involvement is going to be pretty minimal. I mean, I don't even have the time to tend to CORP Strategic League (apologies to everyone who's waiting on a game) and barely manage to get my turns in on time, so I'll deal with this stuff later if it hasn't already happened by Saturday.

I have only just realised this conversation is going on.

This is surprising, since those who are in charge of this sort of thing in the Falcons know nothing about this.
The most likely eight players to fight the Poon Squad would be:

Thomas 633
Colonel Harthacanute
Cade
Purple Bunny
Finston Lurdill
VY Canis Majoris
E3f4b5
Tartar
(knyte?)
