what do you mean by liberated?

The Euro currency is not working because too many different states are currently using it, the process of joining nations to the Eurozone has to be modified.
the European Union allowed unstable and economically weak nations to enter the EU (example: during 2004, 10 states with 80 million inhabitants joined the EU!), this should have been done little by little, state by state, we cannot help that much nations of the old communist block entering the Eurozone at the same time, the process worked for Ireland, Greece, Spain or Portugal in the 80s because they did not joined the EU silmutaneously.
Germany is currently pledging for reforming the Euro Zone and split it into at least 2 zones, leaving the weakest states to another Eurozone as they are real burdens to stronger economies.

The fact that the Czech Republic is against the Euro is a good thing, since we do not want another potential burden, it would be also nice if the Czech Republic and any current anti-european states (talking about Hungary, Poland) gave back those billions of euros that Germany, France etc kindly gave to them through european funds to build their economy. You hate Europe? fine, leave it and give back the money given if you think you can manage your economy better alone.

How dare you insult my country. We're not weak. We meet all the requirements. We don't want the Euro to mess us up, that socialist country, and ahem billions of euros, where? We never got your money,b because the soviet union banned us. We're not economically weak, we're stroger than Portugal or Spain. We only were in the communist block, because in 1948 the soviets invaded czech and the ******* UK and the US didn't help Czech and we'e stronger than any other eastern european countries. We don't want the Euro, because all the other countries are making it lower, and we're nor unstable nor economically weak. Also what billions of euros? We never got any, remember? Read your history. Also, the only reason Czech is not as strong as the UK, etc. is because in 1938, you gave Sudetenland to Germany without our permission, and didn't help us even when we had military alliances with France and UK, so us not being as strong as the west is France And Britain's fault. Also if they didn't give Sudetenland we would have been independent, because at that time we had the most modern army. So read up your history

Your country? are you Swiss or Czech? Anyway, I did not insult your country I never said the Czech republic was a weak state, I never specified I was talking about the Czech Republic, but nations who joined the EU recently in general.

You are right about the Czech Republic their economy those recent past years showed a good economic growth, with a GDP which is already 85% of the EU average.

"read your history" well it is not "my history" but yours. Sorry if I am not as aware of the Czech history as you.

and ahem billions of euros, where? We never got your money

Here a map showing you the least European developed regions in red

Those regions in red are receiving financial founds through regional policy projects in less developed regions. They are supported by three European funds: the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), the European Social Fund (ESF) and the Cohesion Fund.
As you can see the Czech Republic despite having the best eastern economy is massively receiving European funds as only the Region of Prague is amongst the most developped regions.

I would not say "developed" but rather mean GDP, as Estonia is one of the best countries to live in, Wales and Cornwall certainly are not bad either.

Juq you are off topic, as of course I meant "developed" economically speaking, as we are discussing about european funds and money given to those regions.
And yeah I was quite surprised actually to see some parts of Britain such as Cornwall or Wales included in the least developed regions. But it seems wealth is not adequately shared amongst the UK's regions, with London concentrating the wealth, and peripheral regions not having enough money.

First of all to clarify I am Czech, but I live in switzerland. And by billions of Euros I thought you meant the massive aid after World War II. Also I didn't know about the aid programs. But even if they don't adopt the Euro, it's not that they hate Europe, which they don't, it's just the Euro declined in recent years and because of greece they don't want to join. Also the west kind of owes the money, because if they stayed by the alliances, Czech would have been indepedent and the economy would be on par with the west. Also according to this :http://d35brb9zkkbdsd.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/poverty-eurozone-638x604.png its poverty rate is on par with Ireland.

Admittedly I don't keep up heavily with European politics, but from what I know this isn't much of a surprise. There's a large number of other EU countries that have refused to use the Euro, even some big ones like U.K and Sweden. The EU is either unwilling or unable to force countries that should have the Euro to make the switch, so this is probably something that will just keep happening.

Good or bad? Well, depends on if you think the Czech Republic would improve or lower the overall value.

Of course, this is all the opinion of an American outsider. So take it for what it's worth. My reaction to European politics is pretty much this:

What's the alternative to a Tory government? Bliar and Co.?

Labour destroyed our economy. The Conservatives will restore it, but at the cost of our liberty.
To be honest, I prefer the Tories. UKIP are a bunch of blithering idiots. They have good policies, but the inability to enforce them. A Brexit is inevitable. UKIP came second in every Labour-held seat in the North of England. The SNP are a bunch of Euro-loving eco-maniacs. Who cares if the world's warming up? I don't see the problem. Maybe Britain'll be a nicer, less miserable place with a climate similar to Gibraltar?

and I understand OX's opinion, do you think this is normal that some regions of Scotland are undeveloped (see the map above) whereas they should benefit the most from oil extractions? Not surprising that half of the Scots are for independence.

Well the parts of Britain that don't flood with rising sea waters will be great vacation zones I'm quite sure. However, places like Gibraltar will become pretty oven-like.

Not surprising that half of the Scots are for independence.

Yet they still voted to stay. Either the U.K doesn't treat them that bad or it's still better than being alone.

On a slightly off topic note, I love how the U.K lets its members freely vote on leaving. While if any U.S state even talks about the possibility everyone just laughs and the government refuses to consider it.

Even moreso, eklipse, because we are"states". By definition, we're independent. We're united by paper we agree to. We should be able to disagree if we don't benefit or if we disagree. Texas sure as hell doesn't need the United states. It's just another factor of the dumbed-down culture.

The main sources of income for the far north of Scotland are farming, fishing and tourism. The farming is restricted because it's not very flat in that part of Scotland. Their fishing industry is hurt by the EU's common fisheries policy. Then there's tourism, but the only people who go on holiday there go for either hill walking or salmon fishing and the weather isn't very good, so there's that dis-advantage as well.

That might explain why the north of Scotland is yellow.

From my knowledge, I don't believe the Constitution mentions anything about secession. Whether for or against. So the Supreme Court rulings stating that it's unconstitutional (Add that to the list of a hundred other things that aren't related to the Constitution but SCOTUS tries to make themselves an authority on anyways) is just the government saying, "It would be bad for us to lose you, so we're just going to say it's illegal so you won't think about doing it"

When I said "This is what happens with Tory government", I was not implying that the Tories managed to weaken our economy. I'd argue strongly that Labour destroyed the British economy, and Tories revived it, but at the lack of liberty, and strict austerity, which they continue to enforce today, threatening to cut even more benefits. What I was saying, is that the Tories are a very right-winged party "Get the rich richer, and the poor poorer" style. This is why a lot of the British wealth gets concentrated around London, and places like Cornwall, Wales, and the Highlands suffer. (Unsurprisingly, some of the least-English places of the country).

(Also, if you were interested - hardly any of the oil wealth gets given to the highlands, it is mainly concentrated around Aberdeen).

*watches as the Europeans the "great friends" with all their hard work and cultural-ism, not understand that without standing together, they will crumble. Poland for instance, strong economy, still receiving aid, same with the Czechs. The damned Euro was a good idea in theory, but not for everyday use, The Lira, Pound Sterling, Franc, Deutchemark. All currencies that need to come back in order for their respective nations to keep strong( or in Italy's case, to become stable and strong again) This way the money circulates in the given country and not all over Europe. The Euro should only exist as a rock to base trade between currencies and international trade itself. like a ship from Milan to Rio, payment in Euros, easily converted to Brazilian Reals.
