That's really clever - I like that. However, couldn't you argue that if your enemy attacks you, you may not need quite as big a blockade to accomplish your objective? In that case withdrawing with a % move could be better, right? For example, in the game you posted, if you had blockaded the turn before, I think a percentage blockade might have been better than the transfer only one since his stack in Mexico was smaller and you didn't have to worry about him depleting your stack too much.

I kind of like that the poster divulged his maneuver, but without making it obvious to the reader. Some will be clever enough to figure it out; others won't. I think that's cool.

Holy fuck, that's awesome! Reminds me of negative sanctions cards, and gift cards in MA games, but this much cooler.

ZAjokester:

Turn 7, Timinator does not know how many armies will be left over in Panama at the end of the turn. He wants to blockade, but he only needs some armies to make a decent blockade -- if he has leftovers at the end of the turn, he wants those leftovers to transfer to Colombia instead of being part of the blockade in Panama. So first, he uses a transfer-only into an enemy territory (Mexico) to "mark" the armies for the blockade: the transfer will fail, and since the armies cannot have two different orders in the same turn, the armies will remain in Panama no matter what. Any leftovers that are not "marked" will transfer to Colombia; this didn't happen in the game because dead piggy stacked into Panama.

Not really a bug teddy, just an understanding of game mechanics..
just like if you have an army on defense, and another army behind it, if you move the behind army up to defend, they break themselves on it, you can still attack with the full force initially there, because the moved army technically dies first.

Well, I think most top players know the mechanics to the point they know this move is possible. It's just that % is typically good enough to do the same type of move.
