Everyone who wants to share some game can post.

For me it is because it was balanced and the fight on different fronts wasn't so obvious. Also, think about the decisions that were made and how the game would go if I decided to put more in asia and not loose position there when I got 11 income.

And our team was so much clustered in one corner of map, we were at unadvantage position, but we won.

Very close game throughout, unfortunately, my opponent had to go.

Berdan this game is good example indeed. It only needs a title of Hundred wrong Decisions possible in Rome map! Ok can´t be that critical. But it only felt balance due to bad decisions from starting position. Second cluster for one team was only consequence of bad decisions not game-setting-randomness defined. No game can be good or bad in essence. But it was nothing interesting - too me bad decisions, poor team-work is as disinteresting as its gets, too easy and frequent game-style found in warlight!

If interesting is ones definition of clicking through all history and just trying to create effect of motion out of players colour in changing situatsion on map, then no argument here can confute it. Otherwise it was just as any other second Rome map played to end. I would roughly say every fourth or fifth game in rome withing average players will turn west vs east due to factor average players generally do not protect bonus, they rather trade or in worse case abandond.

I love how the people I'd have expected to see in a linked "interesting" game showed up in the comments while the people I expected to see making comments showed up in the game.

Found this when I was checking up on CSL games:

Not super-interesting but a funny reminder of how important it is to counterpick well. Especially if you read the chat.

This game was ended prematurely - still loads of chance for Niklas to win.

I disagree. Niklas had virtually no chance of holding any bonus in that region for an extended period. mm3100 had the ability to expand elsewhere, somewhere Niklas wasn't going to reach in the near future, but all of Niklas' routes for expansion were exposed. He had nowhere left to go. It was an excellent counterpick.

What do you think is the best starting position in the west? If you can pick only 1 territory

https://www.warlight.net/MultiPlayer?GameID=8936963

I wasn't sure if I should go hispania, so I ended up going for britain and and the same time checking germania and hispania. It was mistake? :d

@Berdan

I was sarcastic over the history clicking. If you are interested creating motion out of colorful players game then go look youtube channel Fizzer created in big map FFA games.

berdan try to think!
Its Rome map - unbalanced. 2vs2 with one pick! There is no best position - it depends where your enemy goes. In general leaving Partha and Spain out of check is not good. With 1 territory pick the key featur is Partha-Empire-Asia. With 2 territory this becomes relatively unlike strategy to go.

I can point out the mistake you made? You chose weak starting poistion. And aftermath you expanded 3-ways meaning you wasted armies on small-bonuses you did not intended to take. You achieved your goal you made to Spain before he got the bonus, but do to factor you were weak you had no chance defending it! Take it turn by turn and look how the one in Spain grows. Now try to think either same or another position where you could threathen Spain and make it so you grow-get bonus and and can defend it! It is possible.

Vindana Portus is good Spain blocker if played right.

Why UK is bad in one player FFA. Because it is always weaker than the Spain! You can get it faster but it limits your expansion routes. Second the 6 territory 5 bonus in the middle of UK is the weak spot of growth.

This is merely my opinion, but Rome is not meant to be played in teams (definitely in 2vs2 manual) with one territory. Automatic start is out of order absolutely. 1 territory could be fun in 10+ FFA.

Thanks brah now I got it.

My opinion is I hate 5 position manual, I'm too lazy for this. Auto or 1 pick manual = love. But all people like different settings. So I guess automatic is for tired people like me.

And also, with one pick I would go for macedonia, then through asia counter parthian empire and have lot of free space westwards. When he has only partha you already possess macedonia + illy. I won a lot of 1v1 like this!

Right, but the point is not to hold a bonus, but to block a bonus from going into enemy hands, which he could have done pretty well. Niklas also has 60% more income than mm, so the longterm holding out would definitely end in Niklas's win.

mm3100 had the ability to expand elsewhere, somewhere Niklas wasn't going to reach in the near future, but all of Niklas' routes for expansion were exposed. He had nowhere left to go. It was an excellent counterpick.

Did you see Mexico? Mexico was not going to get injured by mm at all, while India was going under heavy damage.

Niklas had 5 income. mm3100 had 8. It's the other way around.

Moreover, you don't win games by blocking bonuses when:

1. You're far away from your opponent's core bonus

2. You have no ability to actually expand yourself- so, even if he managed to block some bonus, he won't be able to get the income to hold it long-term
