In both cases, one of the most successful teams in their respective league was accused of an offense that was unlikely to make a major difference to the team. The big difference is that some of the officials of the Cardinals may face jail time.
Until the FBI concludes this case, we can only speculate. Multiple Cardinals officials could potentially face jail time. The Cardinals (the team) will likely be fined, but that should be the only punishment they receive. The fans of the Cardinals should be a bit worried because if this is true, it will harm the reputation of the Cardinals. The officials of the Cardinals are the ones that really have to worry.
