I've been working on a WA map for about a month now, with large breaks in between due to school. With holidays coming up, I'll have more time to work on it.

Plain for now, yes, but I am planning on it being more for strategy than design. There will be some art for some of the desert, and maybe even the ocean.

I would really appreciate it if I could have some feedback on bonuses, names and ideas.

Ideas:
You can either base it on population density or fun.
You should complete the map then add art up to the limit.

I think it's a too far in for population density, but the less populated areas are slightly bigger anyway :D

no map of western australia would be complete without a curiously shapeless gelatinous mass entitled 'gina rinehart'. and all the territories in the pilbara should connect directly to perth rather than their neighbouring territories, in homage to the selfless work that FIFO workers do for mere six-figure salaries...

I love the FIFO idea, that is fantastic. Maybe the land should cost more there too, bigger neutrals or something.
How about adding the major roads in somehow? Eg perth-kalgoorlie-esperance etc. or the major train lines? More as art than anything practical.
Also Rottnest island.
