Do you guys ever get in a Warlight funk? A couple of my members were talking about this. Sometimes we get kind of sick of Warlight, and feel like its work to take our turns. I've always snapped out of this funk in the past however.

Just a side note I'm currently not in a Warlight "Depression" and I'm certainly not contemplating retirement. Just wanted to get your takes.

I feel like if you get in that situation, you've probably been taking this game way too seriously. Go outside and jog! If you're not afraid of getting mugged or live in a particularly safe neighborhood, the 1 AM air is freaking amazing.

I personally only play at work now, while I wait for things to download on my computer, and once a day on the weekends.

It can get repetitive. Every few months, I quit for a few months. When I come back it's exciting again. But I have trouble playing the same game for a long time. I don't think it has anything to do with seriousness. Though there are probably people who suck who get sick of playing because they suck.

I mean, if it's starting to feel like a chore rather than a game, I'd still say you're investing too much into it and treating it like a job rather than a hobby/pastime. There's a certain line you cross when the taking your turn becomes an obligation.

Yeh, I've got few such "depressions" - they usually lasted few days-two weeks, but 70% of inicidents where I got booted from the games comes from that episoeds :0

No. sometimes I feel like 1v1 ladder bores me and I leave it or turn down number of games (only because games are so similar). Sounds like you need to play formats that challenge you. I've gotten burned out on particular games though (like maybe a diplomacy one that drags on)

As a clan leader, I felt this way when I had some senior manager helpers suddenly resign on me and I felt burdened to do everything myself. Ultimately, I had to let go a little bit, bring in some new leadership and let myself start having fun again. It can be a challenge.

I think the trick is just not to take on too much, only play a few multi-day games at a time, leave yourself an easy "out"

It's somewhere to relax, and it can easily become a chore. Not having too much can do helps with that I think.

I would say that this comes from just getting bored with a game you've played too much. I used to join real time games just about every day, now it's about once a week. I still play quite a few multi-days, but it's just not worth spending all of my day on.

Yeah I get it and it is from overloading my plate and then always be worrying about getting booted... I got some good advice recently that said play only a few games that you really want to win and let the rest be for fun ...it helped and I broke a lengthy losing streak in 1v1 competition

I had it but its gone because I reduced from 40 to 5 games, but not depressive level just became a chore rather than a game.

Don't build your lives around looking for excitement. Excitement makes you desensitized to more subtle impressions. Play against people better then yourselves. A good player is doing you a favor by crushing you if you watch and learn.
