I have some ideas that i would like to run by some of you guys before possibly putting them on User-Voice.

1. Having a tournament map change from round-to-round, or having random maps out of a set of the creator's choosing

2. Having the loser's bracket for Double-Elim games be a bigger game. for example: in a 16 person game, you could have the 8 losers in the first round play each other, then the winner would play in a game with the four losers in the next round and so forth.

3. Allow players to create tournaments with custom brackets.

4. Create triple-elim tournaments

5. Create double-round-robin tournaments.

6. Allow "Best of Three" or more for each match-up in a tournament

7. give more options under the options button in the tournament tab as to what tournaments to display

8. allow "Set Default" button in tournament page options

Please feel free to comment, i'd like to hear your feedback or any other ideas you have.

I like all of these ideas! Maybe you can create a giant User-voice item that is a Revamp of the Tournament Structure. Basically to give Tournament creators more options and thus opening the door for more competition. I would put my votes for these things

Yeah, i'm just tired of User-Voicing my opinions and then never getting votes, so i figured if i put it here i could get some good ideas or make changes to it before I posted it so that it would actually get votes

I don't understand why people keep wasting votes on those...

at more than 335 votes, ladder will eventually get introduced, i'm assuming Fizzer's just working on it and it's taking a while, but people keep adding votes, it's just a wast of votes.

instead, people should vote for something further down the list that they would like to see implemented

Eagle blast, you propose a great list of ideas. You should keep your comments in this thread on topic? If your real concern is "why waste votes?" then why not post a different thread? See, you've distracted me already from your great ideas, lol.

My favorites are the best two out of three option within a tournament structure and the random map distribution idea. Both speak to adaptive strategies and should increase the overall skill-base of the players who participate in these tournaments.

My least favorite is the triple elimination. The loser bracket moves slow enough already. Impatient people often create new tournaments entitled Part II or three etc. before the predecessor tourney has even been completed. Although the climb from last bracket is intriguing, I think too many boots would be needed along the way and disinterest would result due to the slow pace it would take.

Those are my likes and dislikes.

would that make triple elim better blue?

would like for round robin to be like season, then top 4 or whatever go to single elim playoff (mimicking sports season and playoffs)

so.......#3 would be able to do that?

I like #2 the best - It would go a long way towards speeding up the loser's bracket, though it would also obfuscate skill since there's more luck involved - who are you next to, how are THEIR neighbors doing, are you going to get dominated in the end-game by someone you never even see on your borders until it's too late? Anyways though, good ideas, and yeah, I'll not be changing my votes until the top features get implemented (or permanently shitcanned) and drop off the list.

All of those ideas are nice but I especially like the idea of triple elimination and the chance for best of series matches instead of one game take all.

sorry i haven't commented here earlier.. mainly because i simply agree with all the initial idea's to some point or another, and have even mentioned *somewhere* that i would like a better way to manage my tournaments..

Thats alright Perrin, I just know you comment frequently on here and I usualy like your ideas. and of course Fizzers opinions are valuable.
