There's a huge discrepancy between "do you speak Dutch" and the note at the top of your post "we only want Dutch people"; what about Flemish people, South Africans, not all Dutch-speaking islands in the Caribbean give their inhabitants the Dutch nationality, not to mention there might be an non-Dutch, avid WL-player who (for some reason or other) might want to practice their Dutch.

Wait, is that "40%" a typo? That seems rather generous; a reasonably skilled player who only plays 1-on-1 and likes to challenge weaker opponents could meet that requirement by never surrendering (and winning 60% of their games).

Ehm... which of the requirements are you talking about? Since you only say so in Dutch, it can't be that one. Having members which aren't active doesn't seem to make too much sense. Being okay with a boot rate over 40% could be it, but I sure hope it isn't... So essentially you're saying it's okay to apply if you've been on WL for less than a month?

Also, the requirements listed in this topic mildly correlate, but do not actually match, with the ones listed on your clan page. Wouldn't it be better to keep things in sync?

I have no problem with nationalistic pride and will happily dress up all in orange and sing the national anthem... so long as it's just for fun, not when it might make people feel left out.

I could understand a notice "communication inside this clan is primarily in Dutch", but a flat out "speak Dutch or move along"...? :( That just feels close-minded, inhospitable and frankly, even non-Dutch; do you think the Golden Age would ever have happened if we'd only done business with Dutch-speaking people?

How about toning it down a little to allowing everybody who feels some kind of bond with the Netherlands and are okay with most discussions and chat being in Dutch? If they're willing to Google Translate everything they don't understand (yet), why exclude them?

If you want a Dutch clan, why do you name your clan in English? Dutch Forever? I doubt that is in Dutch.

The name is not chosen by me...


Back in the day when the clan was created, the guy who would buy the clan proposed "Dutch Forever" as name. Three of the four other leaders back then thought the name was ok, I was the only one against it :s (( Honestly: I still think it's a stupid anme ))
But this is the best (and frustrating) part:
Now 1,5 years later, four of the five founding leaders are inactive, left the clan or are just half active (like the guy who bought the clan, he comes online on 2 or 3 days a week, and hasn't given any leadership at all for months).


If I could change the name, I would ask my members for some good names for our clan, then let the clanleadership (we got a new one, consisting of 5 Leaders and 2 Advisors) choose their favorites, and then I would start a poll with those favorites.

Trouble is not even clan owners can change the name. It is something Fizzer would have to do.

And Fizzer's against letting clans change their names, since a clan's name is its "identity."
