It's not so much about how it's now legal but how much everyone needs to rub it in. Yes we know gays can get married. But you don't have to go and tell everyone Gays are better than regular marriage now. And just because it is 2015 does not mean we have to appease minorities and accept everyone. I like this video, i like most of jaclyn's video. I don't see where she insulted anyone in the video. She is harsh to religious people, that's her thing and that's why people watch her videos, she debunk religious bullshit. She is an atheist activist and she is quite good at it.

No.
For one thing, the Constitution is very vague, and yet Supreme Court used the first section of the 14th Amendment to legalize gay marriage. That there is bullshit. The following is a quote from the 14th Amendment, which is the part of the Amendment of which Supreme Court used:
No state shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any state deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law;
There were laws about gay marriage, Just like there were laws about black people and women not being able to vote I would say voting is a liberty here in the States. Because the Constitution is vague, and because there were laws stating otherwise, the 15th and 19th Amendments came into existence. They weren't able to use that 14th Amendment because there were laws in their way, and because the 14th Amendment is vague (and directed towards helping the slaves, and nobody else).
Gay marriage is no different. It should have its own amendment if the States (namely our glorious president and other democrats, in this particular case) wanted to abide by their own legal system.

There's a lot of different types of Atheists out there. I've noticed 2 that are most common.
Type 1: Doesn't believe in any gods/higher powers but doesn't care if other people choose to believe. Generally respectful of other viewpoints and is polite to you as long as you are polite to them.
Type 2: Attacks religion with religious fervor(ironic). Looks down on anyone who has any type of beliefs and will attack you like a rabid wolf the moment you say anything spiritual or religious. This type is often more obsessed with God and mentions him more than most Christians do.
Most of the Atheists I've met in real life are Type 1. Yet the internet is FILLED TO THE BRIM with Type 2. Is it just the internet's tendency to make usually nice people act like a jerks coming into play there?

arf i used to be suscribed to the amazing atheist but i unsubscribed because apart from when he talks about religions, he is unsufferable to me on every other topic.
And Kellen i don't know if you meant what you just wrote but just in case, i should point out to you that i don't need to believe Luke sky walker exist in the real world to talk about him or make/watch videos about him. God is just like every other fictional character, probably a bit more evil than most but still.

@Genghis: There are many arguments for the origin of stable settlements. Believe it or not, some argue that the discovery of fermentation of Wheat into beer caused Semi-Nomadic tribes to permanently settle so they could make more Beer. Religion was certainly an important factor in the stabalization of civilization, but it isn't the only one. I doubt there's really one thing that cause civilization to form, but that it was really a combination of factors.
On topic: Who cares whether gay people can get married or not? Does it affect your personal life? No. So why should you restrict other people's? If you don't like it, complain to your like-minded friends. But until gays start murdering babies, fuck off.

This is the single worst argument in favor of gay marriage. I hate this kind of logic, and you can see how stupid it is to think that way if you extend it to other matters. Children starving to death in Africa doesn't affect my personal life. Screw that continent I guess, not my business. Middle Eastern countries stoning/hanging people for things like adultery and homosexuality doesn't affect me, so why get mad about it?
Sorry, but I refuse to think that way. Just because something doesn't affect you personally doesn't mean you have to or should be silent on the matter.

Lol. Religion isn't the basis of civilization and what's preventing it from becoming barbaric. Religion is what usually MAKES it barbaric. Such as Saudi Arabia, ISIS, medieval Europe's atrocities, inquisitions, holy wars, caste system in India, tiny children getting bits of their genitals cut off without consent, and so on...
I don't think marriage should be mentioned anywhere in legislation, however I certainly don't think discrimination against homosexual people is ok, just because it has something to do with religion. If you can't handle marrying people without discriminating, you should probably just do some other work instead. If a religion is discriminating against homosexual people, then the RELIGION is the problem. Get rid of it!
I'm getting fed up with all the people who think religions should be granted priviliges and put above other systems of ideas in legislation. Hopefully the world will move on from this utter nonsense some day.
