I do not make threads about strategy. Nor do I identify with those who like to be known as "strategic players".
I joined WarLight for the diplo/roleplay world and I don't claim to know anything about strategy or expect strategic players to know anything about diplomacy.
Our worlds are separate.

It is not the fold of Warlight that players joins boring diplomacy games, there is a variaty of settings possible which makes the warlight games interesting.
If you feel that standard games are boring, do not join diplomacy games, ladder or standard tournaments and make game with interesting settings (scenario's local deployment, multi-attack.
I think warlight is doing enough to make the game interesting, it's just the lack of view of the players on the possibilities which causes players to leave.

My advice
Before blaming anyone, look at yourself what you could improve to change the situation ;)
