Perhaps even better than the original, larger version - there is far less margin for error here. Players must carefully balance land expansion against protecting their sea lanes. I highly recommend the 6-player scenario. This map gives the AI a fighting chance.

Very nice detailed map. Lots of connections which makes strategy come into play more.

Really fun map despite inherent bias to edge starting territories. Six player scenario is a tense single player tussle, although AI consistently falls for being outflanked around map edges despite a solid advantage in income. Centre start positions are tough, no doubt. Watch out for surprise wraparound naval attacks. The map is also true to its source and visually appealing with clear boundaries and bonuses. I suspect game play would benefit from the larger central bonuses being split. Wouldn't have quite the same verisimilitude as the current map, but might reduce some of the disadvantage of starting and playing away from the edges. Five stars from me.

The breakup and separation of lands makes this more than just a who has the most armies maps. Without a plan you will lose.
