Starting position is the only thing that counts.

I would agree with others that the sheer size of the bonuses greatly diminishes the playability of this map. Moreover, in a linear map such as this, the best strategy is often simply to assemble a huge block of armies and use it as a battering ram to take one territory at a time. This impoverishes the strategic options available to players. I recommend: (1) scaling back the bonuses; (2) linking each ocean territory to all or almost all of the islands (which will eliminate the linear feel of the map); and (3) creating a few smaller bonus areas in the leeward isles to make expansion in that direction more worthwhile in the short term.

Interesting map. Big bonuses create lots of turn-arounds....

Nice! It's tricky to find the right starting situation, but once that happens, it's a fun one to play and figure out.
