Fun and simple. It's enjoyable to "conquer" a neighboring state. (I'm from Iowa) My only problem with this map is the "Far North" superbonus. The south does not have a comparable superbonus and so it creates an imbalance in the North vs. South scenario. I suggest eliminating it or else reallocating the bonuses so that the north does not have superbonuses.

Yes, the bonuses are certainly not perfect. I created this all in one sitting, and by the time I was adding bonuses, I was literally just putting random territories into north south west east etc. It could be better bonus wise I would imagine, but that is all I could come up with at the time. Might not be perfect, as North gets 1 more a turn when all is gotten from North and South bonus.
