So I was just playing Warlight diplomacy games one day like everyone else does and then suddenly, I heard that the World Nations 2014 map had finally been released. I was eager to see and immediately rushed to take a look at this new map, and then I studied it, and it looked like a great map. Then I looked at the corner of this map and I'm like, no way I'm gonna rate this 5 stars with that creepy Yeezus on the corner of this map so I lowered my rating.
The islands allow for a more free but yet complicated continental travel across the world...

I don't normally care for diplomacy games, but I was pleasantly surprised by this map. While users could endlessly quibble over the relative value of various territories (e.g., London is a 5 but Paris is only a 4), ultimately the values are well-assigned. The territories are constructed so that there isn't a cluster of 4's and 5's somewhere and giant wastelands of 1's and 2's (except, of course, where there really are giant wastelands). Perhaps my only criticism is the lack of islands in the Pacific - this map is very Eurocentric in that regard.
Overall, nicely done. A word to the wise - control the island crossings and you can go along way toward victory.

This has got to be one of my favorite Warlight maps. World Nations 2012 was excellent and introduced an entirely new concept of single-territory bonuses and bonuses based off of real-world statistics, and this map improved that. Even if it isn't entirely original, I believe it's okay to improve off of other people's work and give them a lot of credit - that map needed more territories, accurate names, and better connections.

This map has great detail and plays very well for the diplomacy genre. However, a complaint on it is that regions such as Amazonia and Urumqi are too big and sometimes give unfair advantage. Everything else is great about this map.

This is my first time playing multi-attack and I loved it. The only (understandable) negative is that the result is highly determined by the initial distribution, but this is something extremely difficult to avoid.
Are there maps with features that give every player the chance to get a "region" far from others?

The issues in the map lie primarily in the Pacific, Japan, Britain and Atlantic.
The original 2012 map had it very good in the Atlantic, and in other regions. This map overloads on a lot of island. Plus, it's only use is Diplomacy maps and decent FFA's. Other maps are a lot more versatile and better for specific things, Big World Map by Caio Veloso for example.
However, there is one important improvement to the Pacific that defines the map positively : there is more to the Pacific, and it really expresses the Island Hopping that has always been necessary in the Pacific.

BEST MAP EVER! This is a perfect size for a lont game, but if you could make a longer game, add the counties to the states! That would take forecor to win but really realistic! THat would be good for multi day games.
