I love Issander's maps, both for their intricacy and for their creativity. This is no exception.

EDIT - Version 1.1 greatly improves the visibility issue. Kudos!

To all people complaining about bonus borders: I have given it a second thought and released version 1.1 with accentuated bonus borders. Take a look once Fizzer makes it public and let me know if it solved your problems. Thank you for your high ratings and if you have any more issues, also please let me know.

I really like this map. The concept is awesome and it plays very well.

I have a few negative comments, though. Forests and Mountains are a bit too close in color - it can be a little confusing which is which.

I also think you should have bonus boxes which are clickable for each full bonus so you can click on them and see clearly which territories are in each bonus. I understand why you did it the way you did, because it might make the table in the bottom left confusing, but I think it would really help.

Also, the lakes are exactly the same colour as the Aqua player colour. That is confusing.

WOW! Revolution in warlight mapmaking!
I find the idea great: also having the different terrains with different combintions of bonus/malus makes things extremely interesting. Also thanks for the various distributions, it's very nice to find some.

EDIT: version 1.1 substantially solves the probelms in finding a bonus' extension (though it may be not the most visually appealing). It still is non-trivial to match bonus colors with the table. Changing the background (and each of us players IS a living background), colors play funny tricks: http://brainden.com/images/yellow-blue-dogs-big.jpg. I find it hardest to distingush mountains-jungle-forests on one side and arid_grasslands-highlands-exceptional_lands on the other.
Even more after 1.1 it is definitely a MINOR issue. Thanks for the wonderful idea, and for having made it into such a fantastic map, Issander!

Not my kind of map, but the very idea that Issander is back into action is a great thought. Woohoo!

I gave it a 4/5. It's creative and perfectly playable, unlike most creative maps out there. The gimmicky playstile is, to an extent, innovative, but hard to apply in most other maps. The result is a unique gem that likely will be the only of it's kind for some time.

Hope you managed to arrange your life in the UK! Best of luck Issander, can't wait to hear more from you.

Main problem is that orange/red/brown is not immediately distinguishable on the map.

Would love it if the colors were more distinguishable from each other and if the territory names matched the bonus descriptions better.

Love the concept. Very creative and new strategy possibilities. 5 stars, although it would for me be even easier with slightly thicker border lines or colours that are a bit more different (swamp vs forest vs mountain is hard to see for me).

Great concept, but i am colorblind, so i would prefer numers or something else to divide the territories.

Amazing map. Very unique concept, and the best of its kind. The way the bonuses are made makes for some very interesting strategy, for example, if you take over 3/4 of a desert from another player, leave the last part so that it gives them -3 armies per turn.

It looks like this is the first map with the idea of progressive bonuses. Nevertheless, I've encountered it only after playing other maps of this type, such as Biomes of America or Gotham City.

The concept itself is amazing, no doubts about it. However, when compared to the maps I've mentioned above, this one is very hard to read.

I would suggest to add boxes with armies for each bonus as we know them from regular maps. The main advantage is that clicking this box highlights the regions in the bonus, which makes navigation way easier.

Another thing to consider is to add a list of numbers to the name of each bonus, so that one does not have to switch to the table every time. For instance, "Maghreb" could be named "Maghreb [0,1,2,4]". This name would pop out while hoovering over the box with the total bonus 4, helping especially color-blind people.

All in all, thanks Issander for exploring new possibilities and creating this map. Warzone evolved a lot thanks to it!

Fantastic map, and a wonderful concept.

Unfortunately, I don't think it's well served by the real-world Africa map.

A custom map made to showcase this concept could do a better job of showing clearly which areas and which bonuses are of different types, by using layout and graphic design to make it easy to see.

I hope to see more maps using this idea! 4/5

Really cool idea. Fun to play more stragically using the different sorts of geographic regions. But the 100 defenses within the regions made it really boring again. I think it would be more fun if the amount of defenses on neutral terrain reflected how hard it is to conquer such a region.

For example: Mountain terrains varrying between 20 - 100 defense; grasslands between 0 - 5; jungles 15-20; etcetera.

I like how the bonus system is working. Only it is a little bit hard to see what territory belongs to what bonus. An error is easily made.

The original implementation of INSS remains the best one. I have literally played this map 200 times. Not too small, not too large, interesting decisions to make. What's not to love?

Genius! I think I had played a previous version or this same one some time ago and felt it was hard. This time I was able to beat it with my own, consistent strategy, I think this setting probably fits perfectly my playing style, yet it still felt challenging, in fact, for most of the early game at least 1 of the 3 AI's was superior in reinforcements, with another AI following closely.

This map was not very well thought out. If it weren't for the non-default kill rates this map would almost be playable, but as it is, victory or defeat is entirely dependant on your starting territory.

Exceptionally difficult to discriminate between bonuses. What is Woodlands? Highlands? Mountains? Hard to determinate from the ambivalent colour. You have to guess bonus type from it's name. Which is slow and not fun.
Add a superbonus worth 0 armies containing all HIghland territories then another containing all Forest terriotries etc. for all bonus types.

Absolutely horrible. Can't see the "bonus" areas. At least in other maps with color issues, you can click to see where they are. Here you have to basically guess if you can't see the color. Will never voluntarily play this again.

Love this map as it takes a different approach. However not 5 stars as a) it take luck of the draw in the beginning to be able to win, no skill and b) it take a looooong time to finish (took me 82! turns).

A very buggy map. Easy to end up with an income of 0 armies a turn off random territory selection, and when this happens, a bug leaves you stuck on army allocation, unable to advance to attack planning.

Great idea for bonus distribution, but the numbers aren't thought through. You get a base income of three and you can be spawned in a region with negative three troops, surrounded by AI that also has negative three troops, so nobody is able to do anything while other teams slowly conquer the continent.

Was a nice change to the normal, like here you needed to "trick" the enemy but yes at a point it became stpd computer always falling for the "trick". Maybe much slower cards and bigger "storage" so you would have to plan a bit how to conquer.

Interesting concept, but it's too frustrating because the bonuses aren't distinct enough with just the different colored outlines. If I find myself accidentally playing a game on this map, I'll usually surrender to get out of it.

So the chart on the side of the map is not what is set for the bonuses, honestly, I love a challenge but when gaming the "whole" bonus give -4 and only 2 of 4 give 4 units or -6 for 3 areas, but then 7 for the "whole" bonus, I just got confused, and your lakes are the same color as the Teal background so I spent a full minute wondering why there was no unit number on what I figures out was a lake, it is the little things that can make or break a map, and right now I'd call this broken
