Description

While researching for this map I found that there are three major theories for the future Pangea. Novo Pangea, Amasia and Pangea Ultima. Pangea Ultima seemed to be the most common but I guess we will have to wait 250 million years to find out which is right.
I found variation even when only looking at Pangea Ultima maps. I didn't care to use current divisions when I layed out the territorys so due to that and general smashing and stretching the territory names are not all that accurate. Some are and some are not.

1v1: It does well with the standard 1v1 settings, or some type of limited full distribution. I recommend connecting Chukotka to Baja for some extra balance.

2v2: In my opinion, this is an almost perfect 2v2 map. Slight imbalances in bonus values are distributed in a great manner.

3v3: The map is slightly too small to play a good 3v3 match on, but you can reduce the amount of starting positions and it does decent.

5/5

Simply amazing and very fun! Love the mountains which add many chock-points strategic value. Visually pleasing and very replayable! 5/5

Perfect 1v1 map: a great alternative for when you get bored of MME

Great map, great concept. The only flaw I see - and it is fairly substantial - is that it is fairly easy to turtle to victory if you start in the north central regions. By way of explanation, a player can hold Northern and Southern Sahara, North, East and West Africa and Greenland while defending only six (6) territories (Nunavut, Quebec, Zambia, Iraq, Egypt and Spain/Tunisia.

A couple tweaks to borders would rectify this issue, IMHO. Below are my suggestions:
- Connect Appalachia to DR Congo
- Connect Iraq to Iran
- Connect Tanzania to Mozambique
- Connect Nuuk to both Newfoundland and Manitoba

None of these changes should affect the integrity of the map's concept but together they can make it far more playable.

Cheers!

Thank you for the in depth review. I don't dislike your suggestions but I'm not convinced yet that the north is really at an advantage. I looked briefly and found two more groups of bonuses that can be locked down with 6 fronts. I will play a tournament on this map and after that I should be able to tell if any area is really at an advantage. I'll play some FFA games also and after that if I think it's best I will make these changes and maybe a few more.

not an ideal map for more than 2/3 players! we played with 6 and it was not an interesting game. We had contacts with everyone from the turn 1.

A very interesting map, with potential use in many different game forms. There are a lot of choke points. Whether there are too many depends on your preference.

The sea monster makes it for me. Real nice. Kudos Blort

very similar to snow mountains, but a bit too bright.
Design is nice

It's actually pretty different from Snow Mountains. Snow Mountains has tighter choke points smaller bonuses and dead ends. I made the colors darker and made the water connections more noticeable in a recent update.

Well, perhaps I got lucky on this map. But I'll give it an above avg. rating.

This map is one of the 3 future pangea theories. 250 million years in the future.
