Fabulous map - not only is it incredibly visually interesting, I like how you have incorporated a different style of representing your superbonuses. Many long peninsulas (peninsulae?) end in dead ends, meaning you have to be very careful about how many armies you send to conquer them lest you shortchange your capabilities elsewhere.
One of the best things I can say about Nic's maps is that just as I start to congratulate myself on a solid start 10-12 turns in, another player shows up out of nowhere and forces me to scramble on defense. This happens time and again on his maps and reveals solid balance and skill in their crafting.

Thank you very much for rating and playing! I love hearing feedback. I do my best on these maps, and this is definitely one that I made for strategy! It requires some different styles of gameplay to win.

Nice names and a pretty nice layout. It is a bit narrow in most places so it is harder to get behind the enemy and make a comeback, it was a nice map to play on though most of the game I always had too many armies.

Great map for 3v3 - 6v6. Interesting strategic options and good mix of bottlenecks and open battlefields. I've played this map extensively and as yet I can't find any particular starting position which gives you any major advantage so it leads to good balanced gameplay.

Love this map. It's not that big but it kept a 6v6 going long enough to keep it very interesting.

I did like the old distribution system more. It was something special: Less starting countries, more distance, i.e. faster growing in the beginning, i.e. stronger armies on both sides, more difficult to play. The new distribution now makes it to a map like thousands of other maps, nothing special anymore, rather mundane. Sorry, two points less rating. Please, if possible, return to the old distributing.

This map, by all standards is amazing, for single player up to many players. This map by all counts ranks as one of my favorites, for its well craftedness, and the pure beauty eminent in this. This map truly is a work of art.
The only logical argument I could garner on this map is that the striations and fjords would suggest that there is a larger landmass to the Northwest. And that this entire place should be covered in ice. Remember, the fjords go away from the ice, so logically there are two major ice caps, one on an unidentified landmass to the North, and an other on the Central Kingdoms and Crescent.
This beautiful map should be added to the list of featured maps, even if inaccurate glaciation patterns stand as an obstacle. It must have taken a while to get it taken out from under the "ice" and show its beauty to the surface again, for players to admire for a short eternity.

What a great review, science mixed with puns-n-praise. I'm glad that this map made you think in depth about it, wasn't paying attention to the real-world details as much as I was trying to make this look like an eye. But hey- maybe there's going to be a part II, who knows??
To be honest, I'm really glad this map was such a big hit. Thank you to all of the empires that rose and fell on this map! Thanks everyone for the reviews!

Very good-looking map, well laid-out and designed, with good bonus distributions and clear lines. Gameplay itself suffers somewhat from the narrowness of the continents, which leads to very linear game play. By move 20 or so, I was putting 50-60 armies against 30 enemy armies at two or three places, click, attack, repeat and rinse. The mopping-up operation against the remaining AI armies took as many moves as it took to establish unbeatable dominance - that's a bit too long to bother to finish up a map. Sorry if this sounds too harsh: I am a great fan of the map maker who made many fiendish maps before which I hugely enjoyed.

I guess since the AI don't surrender it is a bit of a nuisance. But thanks for the review!
