Small enough for starting positions to possibly need to be abandoned to obtain secure bonus regions. On many maps its too easy on single player to just expand without thought.

This map gives a nice balance between “Too many squares exposed as to have it impossible to blockade” and “Having too few squares so its too easy to blockade” making this map one of my favorites
