Description

The original Race to the Island map was created by randomguy (https://www.warlight.net/Profile?p=8035645022) who, as I type this, was last seen 237 days ago, thus I cannot ask his permission to recreate his map. Should he return, I will remove it if he requests me to.
I made this map because people are always talking about how bad of a map Race to the Island is (https://www.warlight.net/SinglePlayer?PreviewMap=36243). I personally don't think it's a bad map except visually; so I created a more visually appealing version for the benefit of the WarLight community. As I said, should the original creator return and ask me to remove it, I will, no questions asked. But for now, I hope you can enjoy this somewhat-okay map.
Note: added distributions.

Another forgettable map. I rated 1 star.

Well would you look at that, I don't care. Besides, this isn't even my map. This is a remake of the original. It's not meant to be a good map, it's just simply meant to be a better map.

So after reading the info you posted and looking at how I rated the original I'd say yes this one looks better but you could improve it with a set custom scenario for the players to start at the far left or something. Just a thought.

I realized that just this morning actually, and I went and added one. Thanks.

with the distribution mode AND at leat a order delay card from the very beginning it can turn into a kind of playable map, though luck is still the main component. With this distribution it would be perfect for lotto-like turnaments where you actually have to take a couple of turns and where you can somehow blame yourself if you lose.
Apart from the playability and meaningfulness of the map, no doubt it is flawless and good looking, so I definitely give it decent rating (3).
