Enjoy playing as someone from here but only having one connection between the UP and the LP is harsh in this game. Maybe connect Leelenau to Menominee or Presque Isle to Chippewa and maybe Huron to Iosco to make that more exciting. Also think could rename the land mass bonuses to better reflect area (Upper to UP, North to Northern LP, Flint to Great Lakes Bay, Southeast to Detroit, Mid to Mid-Michigan, South East to Grand Rapids/Kzoo). I like the idea of lake bonuses but the Erie one is so simple to get.
