One of the most fun maps out there, Double Earth offers a richness in strategy like no other. This map is a lot like the Earth map, but Antarctica has been removed, and, as the name implies, Earth has been doubled, so Nunavut connects to Argentina, Svalbard connects to South Africa, and Anadyr connects to Tasmania and New Zealand. Compared to Fizzer's other featured map, the incredibly lazy Medium Earth, Double Earth is incredible. The only map that is better than this one is the absolutely phenomenal Quad Earth map.

On the one side, there are some big areas to gain bonus (like continents (North and South America) which are easy to defend) but on the other side there are also a lot of small connections between all the areas and you may cross the border in any direction ;-)

It's become a custom for me to create 4FFA's, 4v4's and 2v2v2's on this map. I love the map, it's a 5/5 for me; but it's unfair when it comes to South Americas and Australias - they must be 5 instead of 4, due to the number of territories they include. (Same for the single "Earth" map.) So I always change these bonuses accordingly.
The 4FFA I create is similar to the auto-game. It has light fog. But I also add Airlift (4 pieces, min. 1 per turn) and make the Reinforcement progresive (4% of territories, 9 pieces, min. 1 per turn, wieght is 8). players receive 3 pieces of cards per turn. It becomes a more exciting game, in my opinion.
