Enjoyable (if occasionally frustrating) to play - geographically inaccurate which can cause frustration. Also out of scale; have to zoom right in to see numbers on the territories.

It's really nonsensical that this is "world of Alexander the Great" but the majority of the names are in Latin—a language that existed at the time, sure, but certainly hadn't created all those names that came about much later at the time of the Roman Empire. That having been said, it was a fine map to play on.

Its a great map, especially for quick matches. I'd recommend allowing multi-attack and multi-transfer on this map. The only problems are: it is quite small, and its to easy to get knocked out early on - both really the same point. Its very unlikely people will go into the four corners of this map; people often tend to start in Europe because of its appeal as an area that gives very quick conquests and relatively good bonuses for this. I'd recommend starting in Britainnia, Iabadii, Zingis, or for a classic feel, Macedonia:

I almost gave up after three unsuccessful tries. But I won by conquering Africa first. One mistake can really do you in.

The map itself is very good. Unfortunately, some territories connect at corners and some do not. This makes it difficult to tell what is adjacent to what.
Also, calling it the "World of Alexander the Great" is somewhat misleading as most of it consists of regions Alexander never conquered and likely didn't know existed. That fact doesn't affect my rating; I just make that comment for the sake of historical accuracy.

While the gameplay can be fun, the territory lines are difficult to discern and thus detracts from full appreciation. As other reviewers have also noted, the territory names are not accurate for Alexander's time period.
