I like this map a lot, but since there are more choke-points in the east it is much easier to conquer from east to west than the other direction.

It´s a nice quick strategical Map. Obvious starting Positions are good Balanced - you got the same Chance to win from many points of the Map.
But ... The Special Interventions (Bonus) - I get them more by accident rather then playing on it. I wish they should be more important, because they are (too) hard to get. Suggestion: Perhaps two instead of three areas ... so, spliting your Picks might be possible.

Well they we're done more for fun that to make a difference as it's quite hard to balance them :). Although you're suggestion maybe a good solution for them. Anyway i think i need more games to decide.

One of my favorite maps. I love the mountains as barriers. The bonuses are well thought out. You can win from any starting place, even the middle if you plan your moves to maximize your bonuses.

very good map. It's well balanced, with a bunch of chokepoints all over the place (someone mentioned, that the chokepoints arent enough ballanced, which have made the map perfect ballanced, but those kind of perfect maps are boring instead. So my proposal; leave it like that^^). The design is beautiful, although all territories are angular. But in case that this fact makes the borders look cleaner, it's no degradation. When you zoom out, you wont even notice it. The only lack in my opinion is that you didnt vary the size of the territories, which would make the whole thing maybe a bit more interesting. Finally, I want to give it a fair rating in comparison to the other maps in warlight. 9/10

And a question. I know ex. Germany or France. Not Republic of Germany or France. Why did you not name your map just "Macedonia"

Fairly balanced with just enough obstacles and choke points to make it interesting. The "special interventions" bonuses aren't too hard to get in a 1v1 with 2-3 chosen starting spots, and they can surprise an opponent who's not paying enough attention.

Not sure how I missed reviewing this map for so long. It's fantastic! It's well laid out. The mountains create excellent chokepoints, but not too many of them. The bonuses are small enough to control, giving every player a chance to win, even if he/she loses a bonus here or there. Great work!

I think the result depends too much on the starting positions. But I find myself playing this map a lot. I have come to like it more and more. A pleasing arrangement of bonuses forces expansion and encounters.

my favorite map! (for mid-time-playing)
the mountains give nice strategical options. nice graphics, good balanced.
(but its nearly impossible to win only from the centre, when there are more than 3 or 4 other factions.)
i would wish more starting options for more eg.: 4,5,6,7,8 players with fair starting positions(each 1 sp).

Macedonia is not this region... it is much wider.. from Drama to Kastoria and from Kumanovo to Thessaloniki. If you don't know about geography, history and truth pls do not creat maps!!! Thank you very much but i know that you will not hear me.

That is why the map is not called Macedonia. You are quite right, the geographical term for Macedonia is quite large and has often changed trough time. That is why the map is called "Republic of Macedonia" a country which exists on a part of that geographical region. If you have a problem with that, make your own map and include, exclude, add or subtract whatever you feel comfortable with. Thanks for the very insightful and helpful comment on the playability and strategic composition of the map. If all could offer such valuable insight on all the maps, warlight maps would be very improved.

LIked this one. With an AI as a partner, it's always a challenge seeing how you can keep them alive despite their being idiots. It was easy enough that I beat it the first time but it wasn't a foregone conclusion and didn't go quickly.

Terrible.
The best to describe this map is that the ai had 50 army in a territory. Deployed 20. I had 40, where it attacked. Of course they conquered, no prob, but the next round ai had 90(!) armies at this territory. There was no aóother big army around.
And "team c" did not fight against team b, did not put a single army to their direction.
And again, you teammate is worthless, i dont know it was an update or mapmaker setting or what, but since a while teammates are always worthless.
