In 1904 Russia and Japan have had tension rise between them over Korea, since both wished to have influence over it or outright annex it. Japan saw Russia as an aggressive nation just like other European powers, gobbling small underdeveloped Asian nations into their Evil empires. When Russia began increasing its influence in the region, mostly Manchuria, Japan would send delegates to Russia to discuss honorably sharing this influence in the region together. The Japanese would offer to give Russia Manchuria and splitting Korea between them(Russia getting North, Japan South) Russians would then announce that they’ll won’t listen to some weak Asian nation, believing that it would ruin its reputation among the European powers. Russia would then give its own solution to the tensions, and it was them getting Manchuria and all of Korea, whilst Japan continues to sit on its Islands. Japan wasn’t happy with this at all, and so after a couple of days passed after the meeting, they would begin a war with Russia by destroying all of its navy in the pacific by surprise, and then beginning their offensive in Korea. The reinforcements would be sent by Russia but they’re still quite far from the front. Japan would then announce that they’re intention in this war is to fully kick Russia out of East Asian affairs, and solidify its influence over Korea. The Qing dynasty would also allow Russians and the Japanese to fight in its region of Manchuria, which angered the Chinese populace a lot, but would be welcomed by Russia and Japan.(You play as:Russia) |
