9th of March, 2014 After shooting thousands of protestors in Crimea, Russia officially demanded the Crimean peninsula. Ukraine declined, and in response Russia invaded the eastern parts of Crimea. Ukraine did have troops stationed there, but the attack made the troops panic and they were eventually forced to fall back. Reinforcements did come, but it was too late and they were also forced back |
