Description |
The Mithridatic Wars were three conflicts fought by Roman Republic against the Kingdom of Pontus and its allies between 88 BC and 63 BC. The advantageously located Pontic region with its countless works of art had been a Romans' target for a long time. The Romans had conquered almost a half of Asia Minor and taken control over most local kings and rulers, thus they were sure that their Eastern campaingn was unstoppable. However, new rex of Pontus, young, talented and imperious Mithridates VI Eupator used his inherent enterprise to dominate neighbor countries and created the Pontic empire. The conflict between the two powers became unevitable... After the three war campaigns Mithridates VI was finally defeated, and his empire fell after his death. However, he made a huge mark in history and there are now many objects named after him, for instance, mt. Mithridates and Eupatoria town in Crimea. You are going to try to rewrite the history and lead your own Ponticia to victory! Good luck. |
