A change in policy occurs as the US, devastated after the civil war, sees the successes of the European powers in colonial affairs. So in 1877, after repairing their military and navy. They abandon their anti-imperialism policy in favor for a colonial one to repair/enrich their nation at the expense of others and to spread American influence across the globe. You will go to war against Mexico, Spain (and capture their remaining colonies) and will seize unclaimed (by Europeans) land in Africa and countries in Asia (colonies/ports in Japan/China and The Phillipines) and Central America. |
