The Venusian Empire has reached the surface of the planet at last and peacefully vassalised Mercury, replacing the hitherto tribalistic degeneration of civilisation with a reactionary Duke. A step in the right direction, perhaps, out of many thousands to go. The Empire has now allied with the United Nations Dyson Mandate and together began planning an attack on our territory. Fortunately we had planned to attack- uh- ...liberate... them first and have amassed a force to do so. Conquer these evil monarchists and teach them the true way to prosperity and happiness. In addition, a fleet of privateers recently attacked our facilities at the Martian North Pole. They saw some success, but we captured several looters during the battle. Under 'coercion' a few let slip that they swore allegience to the Free Cities of Ceres, who allegedly consider our regime 'illegitimate' and 'undemocratic', not to metion 'brutal subjugators of human rights'. Pah! Crush the cities and punish them for their impudence - most of them will be too weak to fight you. Earth is no longer required for you to fulfil your goals and has been handed to the Ministry of Reconstruction, save for the Space Elevator and orbital infrastructure. Mars however is still under your control. Use it as you see fit. |
