Having taken Ukraine, Russia now has its sights set on the Baltic states. Putin feels Russia was humiliated when the Soviet Union fell and he is now seeking to restore the former Soviet states, and will seemingly do whatever it takes to do so, even going so far now as threatening nuclear warfare against NATO if they intervene in the invasion of the Baltic States. This brings a serious question for NATO, will they enact article 5 and risk war? Or let Russia invade and allow NATO itself to implode? Russia has quite the stash of weaponry in Kaliningrad and have also managed to penetrate eastern Latvia, what will NATO do? |
