Yes, its opinion. But claiming an opinion to be superior is ignorance.
@Andrew
We had a rap thread. I posted some in my opinion good rap, hip-hop artists, songs. None of them are popular, only one has hits over few million in youtube. Rap grew out of struggle, battle. It carries that seed. The theme of sex, drugs, weed and swearing os overlayed everywhere. I can´t guarantee but check my post there you might find something you like. Especially if you are into rap in sense of message, rhymes, theme. Not merely bad 128kbs bass and swearing.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7xZOrWK6d4gI am lacking info about how style metal came to be. But I doubt that it is all about screaming, rage, death? Second I do think screaming requires a skill? Most people cant even scream - they make a rather pathetic sound. Like any other genre-styles it has enormous amount of sub-genres. Just think of Nightwish (Old-Tanja times) or Apocalyptica (instrument and song versions).
Take for example symphonic metal:
Epicahttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dys1_TuUmI4 (This song has a small screaming part:))
Symphony X https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mPVC2UJRAbcTherion https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pQTED_-ec8sOr Folk-Melodic Metal
Eluveitie - in ancient gaelish-celtic? (small part of screaming)
