Even though I dont feel sorry for Oskar Gröning, the whole trial is a farce. After WW2, the west allies encouraged westgermany to set former militairy officials, that have been part of gestapo and extermination commandos as well, in charge again, to fight the UdSSR. After more then 20 years of the reunion of germany and the defeat of communistic russia they sentence a 94 year old man to prison, to prove their willingness to fight genocid and dictatures. this is fucking hilarious.
