and Austria´s cussedness.-We-the Germans-did only help a friend in need by backing him

Dude is an accessory to thousands of murders. He should be put in prison, no matter how long has passed and no matter whether or not he's a continuing threat to society.

Punishment has 5 purposes in general: deterrence, incapacitation, rehabilitation, retribution, and restitution. In this case, incapacitation and rehabilitation are totally irrelevant, and restitution is also out of the question. What's left is deterrence - if you do some totally fucked up shit in time of war, there might be consequences in the future, so you better think twice; and retribution - if you do some totally fucked up shit, you deserve to suffer.

Prof. Piggy thinks retribution is immoral and (s)he isn't wrong. But, nonetheless, it's in human nature - if you hurt me, I will want to hurt you. In order for society to function smoothly, it is important that the government retains a monopoly on the sanctioned use of violence. In order for the government to legitimately maintain that monopoly, it takes over the function of retribution. If you're wronged, you should stay your hand (having faith that the government has as good a chance of extracting retribution as you do).

N*z*s are monsters and are evil and have to get killed and eradicated.They have to get eradicated to prevent any further spreading and growing of this scum and to secure the national safety,death punishment has to get reenacted-at least in Germany-and this plague has to be erased,one by one.All n*z*s have to get murdered

There's something both ironic and disturbing about pursuing Nazis with their own type of thinking. While I don't dispute the Nazis were/are evil, it's hard to say we're any better if we use the same "Kill them all" method.

Okay, remove killing MILLIONS of people and igniting a world war in Europe, what did Hitler really do? Sentencing a 94 year old man is beating a dead horse with a stick. Honestly, he's going to live max another 30 years. (Given the amount of advancement of medical research etc.) What the German government was hoping is that he'd die withing maybe another year or six. Then again, he's not going to jail in the USA. In which we still treat our prisoners better than our elders....

We have awful prisons that defy human rights laws.

Human rights violations or no, our prisons provide a more comfortable life style than many poorer citizens have.

Yes rape, police brutality and cells where you are alone and have no windows, beds, or toilets is very comfortable.

You must be taking qualities of the worst prisons and applying them to all. Most prisons in the U.S, and other western countries, are not like this at all. A relative of mine was in prison quite recently, and he had a bed, and a toilet. Plus there was no police brutality or rape (That I'm aware of).

Plus, even if some of what you say is true, it's still not as bad as slowly starving or freezing to death on the street.

94 years old + 4 years in Prison? So they basically gave him life imprisonment.
