(You calling this the biggest outcry/worst update, many people agreeing)
It certainly appears to be the biggest outcry. The amount of response this thread has gotten in such a short amount of time seems to dwarf the negative reaction that coin games received. I don't see why pointing that out is somehow bad.
Yeah, you guys are overreacting. That's fact.
Please give me an example of how I've overreacted. I've pointed out that there's a huge community opposition (Truth) and I've given my own personal reasons as to why I don't approve of the update. Meanwhile, I've also denounced the people raging at Fizzer and have tried to encourage a fair and logical discussion about this.
I haven't seen a valid argument except for Math Wolf's in why people dislike it.
Then you either;A) Haven't been paying attention, or B) Are using a really skewed definition of valid.
With the exception of a few pretty much everyone who's opposed to the update have laid out their complaints in a calm, organized fashion.
How am I supposed to take it when people are saying crap like WL is going to have no users, everyone is leaving now.
That's only what a vocal minority is saying. Most people are giving logical criticism of the whole update, but users like you and Thomas seem to be dismissing most of it as "Oh you're just whining. Deal with it." Responses like that don't sway opinions.

Thats because most of it is whining about "Loading times" along with "Not finding open games" backed with "Crowed and uneyefriendly".
The Dashboard offers more than the opens game tab, it actually shows you what the settings are of the games that you wish to join. On top of that, it leads you directly to the forums. So what, you have to scroll down, but when some people play like 60+ multiday games at a time, just seeing 5 of your games is perfectly alright.
Those bitching about not wanting to see coin games, actually add valid things that you can do to -CHANGE- not just stating, "Oh I don't wanna see them because I don't like coin games".
And I don't think he's talking about you personally Eklipse, I believe he's referring to the people who make no valid points and just say they want their open games/my games tabs back.
There has to be a very good reason besides those stated above. Because if so, it just sounds like people are having a harder time adapting more than anything else.

one person has said it slowed down their load. what else am I to go on? Everyone else just complains about clutter. I'm not saying clutter isn't an issue, but you guys are giving Fizzer nothing to work on. If you want less clutter, show an example of a 'non-cluttered' dashboard. I have now said this 5 or 6 times...GIVE EXAMPLES of how to make it better. Simply stating what you don't like won't get us anywhere.
Well a huge issue in the way here is that a very large chunk of players do not even want the dashboard to begin with. Allowing players the choice between the Dashboard and the My Games/Open Games tabs would silence all the critics at once.
I'm not a website designer, I really don't know how to fix the dashboard. I'll adjust to it eventually sure, but actually having the previous system as an option would be much more ideal.

I would suggest something like this (excuse the 2 minute MS paint job): Have tabs on the dashboard for the game items (it would function like the Community dashboard where the ladders are on tabs). It would be much easier on the eyes. The counts on the tabs would be your number of games, then Promoted games, then Open Game count (you could have count for coin games also as the tab has now). I would assume it would not load those other items unless you click on them?

That's actually a great idea. It would improve the Dashboard immensely and give it the same functionality and organization that the old system had.
I fully support this for whatever that's worth.

All right, specifics.
One of the critics earlier mentioned that a good way to fix the issue would be to make all the bubbles in the Dashboard minimizable, which I agree with (more or less). If players are given the option to select what they see on their dashboard, I feel that most people would adjust to it more readily. Specifically for the 'My Games' section of the Dashboard: I think that Fizzer should simply move the options from the 'My Games' tab to Dashboard (eg: Game Filter, Sort, Games per Page). There should also be a in-tab refresh option. I think the Open Games tab should come back, as even with limiting My Games, it is still annoying to scroll down. Also, Coin Games should not show up for players WHO CAN'T USE COINS. If a player feels ready to play coin games, they can go to the coins tab and activate it. (Sorry, pet peeve.) I would love to make a mock-up of all this, but unfortunately am not skilled enough to do so.
TL;DR: Move the viewing options from the old 'My Games' tab to Dashboard, return 'Open Games' tab, hide Coin Games from non-coin players. And make Dashboard bubbles removable.
EDIT: Chris' mockup works well too.
EDIT 2: Also, I felt it deserved mentioning that 2-3 players who had never had any interest in the Forums came out of their caves to mention-ever so briefly-that they wanted the 'My Games' and 'Open Games' tabs back.

Why don't you want the dashboard? What's wrong with it? People have been saying it does not function. What doesn't function? I don't see anything on the dashboard that mygames/opengame tabs did not have. And no this is not the biggest outcry. In this thread is about equal amount of people agreeing and disagreeing. The announcement to change the name got almost no one agreeing it's a good name to change to. Only people agreeing that the name probably needs to change. Coin games had like 20+ topics. I just did the search function and get a ton of results. This dashboard change has 3-4 topics atm. Warzone had similar amount of hits as coin games did. So you're wrong. This isn't nearly as unpopular as those 2 updates.

agree with Chris' mock up. That would give everybody what they want. Honestly guys theres no reason to be hating on Fizzer here, give him a chance to work with us here. Without him, none of us would have this terrible addiction we call WL.
Would like to hear Fizzer's reasoning behind removing the my games and open games tabs, not sure if Ive seen an explanation.
But my main point here goes with what others have been saying, stop with the hate, and try to offer suggestions to help both parties be happy here

Over 150 posts on one topic in 24 hours is a lot more than the other updates received. The others you mentioned did get more TOTAL, over a period of weeks, but this change has gotten all this feedback in just a day. There'll probably be more criticism as other players discover the change.
But this is all really a side point more than anything. If it makes you feel better to be right on this little issue, then fine. I'm not going to argue about it further.

This script that Muli created does much of what Chris's mock-up mentions. It takes less than 30 seconds to install.
[udSBMFdjfcXQVPQ=https://www.warlight.net/Forum/83888-userscript-tidy-up-dashboard- ]https://www.warlight.net/Forum/83888-userscript-tidy-up-dashboard-[/quote][/udSBMFdjfcXQVPQ] I forgot about this - mainly because I never used Dashboard. Now, Dashboard is definitely better (although it'd be nice if anything/everything could be removed on the right side, but this is livable).

Why don't you want the dashboard? What's wrong with it? People have been saying it does not function. What doesn't function? Okay so if you want my opinion with the dashboard here it is. Pros 1. I had no idea the forums existed before the dashboard and paid no attention to it. 2. I'm perfectly fine with the my games being at the top Cons 1. Scrolling down to the open games takes to much time and is a little annoying 2. Sometimes my games don't even load that it is my turn or if it has chat so I won't even notice them until like two hours later I don't know if I'll get used to it (currently I've bookmarked the my games and open games page) but maybe I will

I only ever used the My Games and Open Games tab. They're familiar, and easy to use. The dashboard is just a whole lot of random info thrown at me that I personally, and I assume others, don't really care about. Those of us that aren't at all interested in coin games shouldn't be forced to have all of that info about coin games and the coin leader board shoved at us. I understand people are kinda split about it, and some may like dashboard better, but please at least give us the option of My and Open games.
