Chris, the thing is when most people hear "Off-topic" they usually take it to mean, "Talk about anything that's not illegal." That assumption isn't broken unless specific rules are given. I agree that not every thread on the OT is of high quality, but even the General forum encounters a bad topic now and again. The best solution is to just ignore and move on. I honestly don't see where your level of anger is coming from.

I can see where you're coming from Chris, it would be nice to have the forums customizable so you didn't have to see posts in a forum you don't use.
But that's not the case, and until it is you're going to have to live with people using the off-topic forum to talk about off-topic stuff.
Maybe take this thread elsewhere though, this was supposed to be a place for people to sing praises towards jamrod

When I was in CORP, we used the Clan Page/Titles for external recognition. You have to be wary of cluttering the Clan forum- low activity forums make it much harder for activity to naturally filter out spam (for example, compare the impact of /r/TodayILearned/new on /r/TodayILearned/hot to that of /r/Debate/new to /r/Debate/hot).
While I respect your interest in making sure your members get the recognition they deserve, given the trivial nature of the information here, you could perhaps make a single thread to consolidate your Member of the Month awards- perhaps even a single external-facing Poon Squad thread where you can also receive feedback on your clan and avoid having to repeat yourself everywhere. It would serve as a great resource for people interested in your clan, too, as it's a much more comprehensive document than your clan page. Just bringing that up as it was an idea I toyed with in CORP (when I felt that others might benefit from having a more accurate perception of our clan, especially given its dynamic nature).
