Eh I just told Panda what Mongols clan is. I don't want to say his reasoning for joining because I feel that is something he wants disclosed. But I will tell you it's not managers rights, just view his rank on the clan page if you want to disprove me.

Des, I would love to be in the same group as you. I may hate people like QueefBalls, but I am not going to deny someone who wants to join the clan. They might like other members of the clan, and who am I to deny someone from joining? I am not the "God" of the clan. Like certain other members, I am merely one of few central personality cults, who really just invite people to the clan.

I think that's a road-block in Mongols clan : People attribute me and my personality to much to Mongols, but we are really a nice group of well-rounded folk.

And no Knyte I did not join the Mongols because I had a management offer, I wanted a quiet clan for now as I have less time to focus on WL, so the Mongols sounded perfect: a good community playing diplos and some FFAs and a very active leader.

When I have time, I will just help Genghis to grow that old clan, once my job is done I may leave, I did not forget your offer for Olympus :) But the only problem about your clan Zeus is that I would have to change my name and I will never change it. So unless I make an alt to join your clan I dont see how that could be possible.

Hello, i am one of the original founders of the lost wolves and im still in its top 5 today.

firstly, there is no rivalry between the wolves and the falcons...nor do we hate after dark...are "rivals" are vitrix mainly however the falcons often say we are there rivals.

secondly, alot of what zhuq said is from a biased viewpoint so ill give you the facts.

The Lost Wolves

*Started as a protest against Roman Clan's dictatorial rule.

^this is true but it started with michael getting kicked from vitrix and we would rather have followed him then arminius

*Keyes, Godkung and a few others buy their own clan - TLW.

^ godkung (retired) bought the clan and then me,warlord,awesomebeast (retired), and michael lead the clan until michael kicked the majority of the clan and when he was kicked his spot as a top 5 was left empty so we made a 10-13 people government council which included houston the hammer and keyes but that was a few months after our creation.

*This clan does not really have democracy, either, for now.

^our government changes practically every week but the one we have now is keyes' ideal one, we have a pentarchy with 5 people (me, semice,zephyrum,houston, and keyes) and a high council that just gives us ideas.

*I came into the clan. *Dom leaves the clan.

zhuq was a person who always made games with us and when he joined he gave off a untrustworthy feeling in which i didnt trust him at all... dom left becuase this was around the time we dicided to let michael back in (biggest mistake we ever made) and dom didnt want to be in the same clan as michael

*Semicedevine spam posts frequently on the forum - TLW reputation starts to sink at this point.

only the falcons were made, and it was made due to kellen throwing a fit and leaving, taking his friends with him...so it was kellen, not colonel. and about the falcons, we have drove thomas to being paranoid just becuase ew were tired of dealing with there shit

now i know those last few had a bit of bias but we all are biased when it comes to giving opinions, however i felt the facts weren't enough to convey my point. the falcons and wolves are (loosley ill admit) allies at the moment... vitrix is our main rivals acording to most wolves who are active on the forums (unless you ask semice or his fleet, and speaking of his fleet it seems bad for our image when semice and his fleet are the only wolves who post stuff on the forum making us look like 1 goal set assholes) and this is becuase unlike the falcons we have risen close to our mother clans status, we have yet to beat vitrix but eventually we will, remember rivals dont hate each other, they push each other to accomplish goals until one goal is met and the other admits defeat... we nor the falcons have pushed each other to a greater purpose, however just the thought of vitrix alone pushes most of us to recruit better and in all be better then them in all ways and since we are close to vitrix's status in terms of rankings it will make them wish to out play us in this game of back and forth.

How do you figure we haven't reached anywhere near the level of you guys? Stfu the wolves are full of alts and inactives. & you didn't drive Thomas to anything he's definitely not paranoid. This is exactly why I wouldn't let colonel honor any wolves on the falcon page he was convinced that you guys are friendly towards us but I know you think your better that's why I hate most wolves.

Guys, this is possibly the worst thread on the forums for clan bashing/drama. Keep the Wolves/Falcons stuff somewhere else.

Most of this could have been done in private chat.

That said, clan history is fun. Given the flexibility of the system, clan leadership structures tend to vary heavily and it's useful to know what's been tried and what works the best under what circumstances.

Well people in the wolves and falcons talk about someone gaining MR and destroying the clan. Like how does that even happen, people just gaining MR?

Less preventable than you might think. Achilles, the last person to abuse MR tot take over CORP, would have been the last suspect. He was one of the founding members of Scorpio, motivated to improve (until he went inactive, he was playing in CSL alongside mm3100 and learning a lot very fast), talkative, and to top it off someone Kazuki knew IRL and presumably trusted. This was with only 3 people having MR (Kazuki, the leader/owner of the clan; me, because I took care of operations when Kazuki wasn't able to do so efficiently; and Achilles, as Kazuki could trust him more so than he could trust anyone else, really).

Which is why I'm interested in how other clans tackle the problem of management. There's lots of things that can go absolutely wrong when instead you want a clan to constantly improve and deliver increasing value to its players.

2 active people in AWF have MR. Its not a problem and I doubt it ever will be.

Also, people who actually play the game and have fun at it are less inclined to destroy the fun than someone playing rigged diplos. Also, maturity has a lot to do with it.

^ the issue is that the risk is virtually impossible to assess because of how little we know about other players on this site and the general lack of tools we can use to prevent them from misbehaving. The only clans able to throw around MR everywhere are groups like apex with highly trustworthy players who would harm their significant time investments in the game by behaving like idiots.

That disincentive doesn't exist for most players. While there are rules of thumb like the ones you mentioned (serious players are less risky because they've got more to lose and less of an interest in a NationStates-style Clans metagame; players who've demonstrated and understanding that certain actions are unethical are also more trustworthy), they're not able to provide anything near certainty. How clans deal with this dilemma often ends up defining how they operate.

Manager rights are almost useless if you are in a fun clan. Before I got MR, the only thing I couldn't do that I do now is give people funny titles. People who think destroying someone's 15$ is fun have serious mental problems imo.

MR were pretty useful to me in CORP.

I never really used my MR in CORP. I never found people that I thought fit CORP well enough. Well besides BigMeck :>

It goes beyond invites. If you look at the CORP Clan Page, you'll notice that titles haven't been updated since I GC1 ended. :> At least I got the Kaiju title in for BM but now it belongs to orionaux for winning the July Scorpio tourney. Also the changes to the Clan Icon when a dojo won the monthly title. And the updates to the description as the clan evolved. Mostly just day-to-day tasks, but those are the reasonMR are the source of all real authority in the clan- Managers end up having most of the control over implementation.

The fact that the Prime Minister of The Royal Falcons is hostile towards The Lost Wolves causes considerable worry.

Here is my history:

*I join WarLight

*I make friends with a guy named Awesomedude

*Awesomedude invites me to join The Lost Wolves

*I join The Lost Wolves

*I make friends with many nice people in The Lost Wolves including Semicedevine, GodKungRoaringCow, TheLastJapanese, Xapy, Sleepybear and others

*I change my name to Colonel Harthacanute

*Awesomedude changes his name to Resykon

*Resykon convinces me to join him in setting up a new clan

*We find Thomas 633 (then a member of Time Lords of Gallifrey) to pay for new clan

*Resykon decides the new clan should be called The Royal Falcons and Thomas should be the King

*Thomas 633 creates new clan with confirmed name and I am first to join

*I come up with a new constitution for the clan which is borrowed from the Wolves, is extremely complicated and nobody understands

*Resykon tries to convince me to lead a coup against Thomas in favour of his becoming King: I naturally refuse

*Resykon goes back to the Wolves and stirs up trouble with Michael the Great and Semicedevine

*The Royal Falcons and The Lost Wolves annoy everybody by clogging up the forums with arguments and empty threats both ways resulting in the tarnishing of the image of both clans

*The Royal Falcons grows to have 70 members, 15 of whom are active on the forums and real-time and multi-day games

*Semicedevine and Michael the Great take over the Falcons with assistance from Kellen the Conqueror

*Thomas takes back the clan with considerable help from shyb on the condition that I am barred forever

*Thomas agrees but breaks the contract ("we do not negotiate with terrorists")

*I rebuild the clan pretty much single-handedly

*The awld Falcons slowly become bored with the clan and leave to join various other clans

*Many new members join, replacing the old members: it turns out many of these new members are Wolf alts

*The alts launch a campaign to destroy the Falcons. They use the system I built to destroy me

*I am booted from the Falcon by my former ally and the Chairman of my Falcon party Cade

*I join the Mongols upon the invitation of the Khagan

Never fear cause CORP always has a strategy to solve its own problems and rise to the top.
With that said CORP is a non-politic clan which has no drama but a peaceful friendly atmosphere in its present state.
For what I have seen of the history i find CORP brave and fascinating
