Black and blue but I still see brown and grey with color picker.

Also, color can change depending on the color of your source. If your source is red, everything will be reddish or appear differently.

It isn't rigged, the lighting in the picture was bad, and everyone's eyes are different and see the picture in different colors. Some see it white and gold, others blue and black.

There is no black. The RGB is some RED, GREEN and BLUE. Black would be plain nothing (0%).

And it is 50 % red.

Wired.com and phot editor agree that it is gold-brown and light blue. Bad exposure, not natual light conditions.

Why people say it is brown ?

I color picked and it is indeed grey. E6... is grey according to html colors chart. I don't know why wired.com says there is brown. Possible I misred article.



I knew it is grey but thought I picked a dark area. It makes sense it is blue and black but those people don't know how to take or treat images.


Light blue is near normal blue and grey is near black. It is still true that the dress is NOT black and BLUE. ONLY light blue and grey.

The thing is not illusion. I can make painting of dress and will look normal. Photo wasn't made well.

It is Blue and Black. It is made to look White and Gold however.
