Updated my top post for everyone. As for how things are going, still need Timinator to join his Greece tournament, but first blood has been drawn.
Brisk in the Strat ME 1v1 0% SR tournament has defeated Falker for the first game of the clan league!
Good luck to everyone involved and let's have the most competitive group A yet!
For people wondering about my predictions:
1. Apex 2. GG 2. WG (Yes I'm predicting a tie.) 4. Blitz 5. French 6. Lynx 7. AHoL
For an explanation: Apex, GG, WG just hands down have the strongest rosters. GG has allowed Latnox to play 3 tournaments, so if he performs excellently I think GG are super strong this season. However, I think Apex is stronger. Apex has performed consistently for 2 seasons in a row, beating GG last season by 17 points. Consistency is the key to winning a very strong group, and Apex is the definition of consistent when it comes to this league. Over 2 seasons, Apex has not dropped more than 20 games in either. (Apex dropped 17 in season 4, but there were less games) This is also Apex's strongest roster with the return of Widzisz. I think WG with Gnuffone and Falker additions since last season will perform much stronger than Season 6, and if no one gets booted I think they're as strong as GG. Now a tie won't happen, we have tiebreakers, but I can't really predict who'd win that tiebreaker. I give the edge to GG, which is why I placed them higher.
Blitz is no slouch, looking at their records for B and C, this is a team that is underrated most of the time. They took rank 1 B from Lynx and the statistics are impressive. They won 5 1v1 tournaments, 2 2v2 tournaments, and a 3v3 tournament. I think now with Heyheuhei playing the 3v3 they are a much more fearsome team than Lynx. I think 4, 5, and 6 are going to be separated by no more than 20 points, but I give the edge to Blitz to perform higher than French and Lynx.
French last season did not have their strongest team possible, which is why they asked for the dev league to be created. That being said, they ranked 4th in A last season. So now that they have their strongest team possible, will they perform at a podium level? I don't really think so. Even with their strongest members they performed inconsistently, and this time there's no weak WM or weak WG due to boots/not very strong roster. I think that doesn't bode well for an inconsistent team. With the addition of Gui though, I highly doubt this is a team that gets relegated. Which is why I have to give the first relegation spot to Lynx. Lynx performed inconsistently in B, and that just won't work in A. A is much tougher this time around and will punish inconsistent teams considerably.
AHoL last season in A performed inconsistently, and this is a team that has performed very inconsistently over the past 3 seasons. With NoobSchool being too busy to play this season, I think this is the season we see AHoL unravel. Now if there's ever a chance for a team to absolutely drop their first 20 games, yet go on a miracle winstreak to avoid relegation, it would be AHoL. I just don't think it's going to happen this league. I think they benefited greatly from WM unraveling and a very good 3v3 europe performance, but I don't see any of these teams unraveling and I don't see a repeat 3v3 europe performance happening. The teams are strong and I think it's time for the drunkards to finally lose their spot in A.
Apex for the triple crown, Blitz to over perform, Lynx to under perform.
