Day Phase 1. Do not post here if you are not apart of this mafia game.
Back Story:Leaders from a group of a 9 nations have formed a genuine friendship. Through this bond, stability and safety are likely assured for the futures of these peoples. However, rumors abound that some nations in this friendship seek only their own selfish ambitions, and have banded together to sabotage the alliance. These moral reprobates are in your presence, and now, it is time to root them out and destroy them.

Analysis Types for newbies:
- Thematic Analysis
Determining who the mafia is/isn't doesn't always rely on the consistency with which they present their objectives. This game is thematic, meaning that each person represents a nation. This will somehow be relevant in determining the mafia's identity, as the theme may be 'democratic states are town, communistic states are not.' However, be careful, the mafia is more informed in this issue and will likely be able to work out the theme before the town, enabling them to come up with lies that fit the town motif.
- Role Analysis
Every person has a role in this game. The utility of a role differs from person to person. Some roles such as the Governor (can control other people's votes) are extremely powerful for the town's arsenal. Other roles such as the role-blocker are not really useful as town. The utility of a role for a certain team determines it's likelihood to be exclusive to that team. For example, a double voter is a person whose votes count as two people's votes. If that power was given to the mafia, the game would be unbalanced, so it is generally only given to townies. If someone claims to be a double voter, they are essentially claiming a town-only role.
However, mafia's will claim townie roles in order to look good. When this happens, they might claim to be a doctor, when there is already a doctor in the game. Duplication of roles only happens in advanced mafia games, so you could safely assume that there can only be one doctor. The risk for town occurs when the actual doctor needs to come out. The mafia are looking for all the powerful town roles in order to eliminate them as soon as possible. Powerful town roles should remain hidden for as long as possible, however, revealing them may be the only way to catch the scum.
Alternatively, you can reveal limited amounts of information about your role/character and later on reveal who you are completely, in such a way that it is impossible for you to change your claim as the game goes on. Nobody will know who you are, but once you reveal completely, it should be apparent that your claim is the only claim that could fit your hints. This is known as soft claiming and is done when you feel that you shouldn't reveal too much about yourself but you want to lock yourself into a certain claim so that you don't look too suss.
- Mod Psyche analysis
In the creation of this game, and its running, certain patters of how I as the mod operate may become apparent. For example, role justifications might be extremely detailed for the mafia, but rather bland or weak for the town. If during the game it turns out that some people who you believe to be the scum happen to give far more detailed role justifications than yourself or any other people you know to be town, it is possible that this is evidence for their being scum. Keep in mind that I the Mod am able to throw false leads to prevent the use of Mod Psychology. If you make it obvious that you are using mod psyche, I will. So keep it hush hush.
How to claim, and pressure for a claimGenerally, when the mafia game begins, nobody in the town knows who is guilty or not. The first leads are usually gleaned via randomly pressuring others to reveal sensitive information about themselves. The mafia at this point are highly cautious about giving away info. There is a theme that connects the mafia's character nations together, and all the mafia have roles which townies do not have. For this reason they can't safely come up with a lie that they are convinced won't contradict an actual townie.
Pressure is applied via voting for a person, once someone has the majority vote, they die.
Role PoolBecause you are likely unfamiliar with many of the roles that can be town/mafia, I have created a pool of roles that contain all the roles used in this game, plus a lot more (for room for the mafia to fake claim). I will not reveal which of these roles are only used for town or mafia exclusively.

VOTE: [person]VTL stands for 'Vote to Lynch.' If the vote is hidden in a wall of text, I'll probably miss it. So make it visible.
Additionally, before voting, you must first indicate that you are withdrawing any previous votes you made. Generally, since you vote for a few people before landing on your chosen target, your votes will look like this:
Unvote, VTL:[person]
>>With 9 Nations standing, it takes 5 votes for a successful Lynch. DP1 ends when someone has reached 5 votes<<The time limit on this DP is 72 hours. Best of luck.
Your time starts now.
