Since the first one died out, I've resurrected it. (and to be honest, it would've taken an ungodly amount of work to calculate the 'real' value of Legacy's shares after so long.)

Also, I've simplified the dividends. More on that below.

The WL Stock Market is a place where investors can retire rich! ... or lose all of their money. The stocks exist on the RT, 1v1, 2v2 and 3v3 ladder, and a stock's value is its rating. Stock in unranked players are worth $0, and cannot be bought/sold until it rejoins the ladder.

Each investor starts out with $50,000 to play with. Buying and selling costs $10 per transaction: for example, selling five shares to buy five shares will result in a $20 total fee. The fees collected will be set aside in a fund that will try to bail out players who go bankrupt.

Now, dividends!

Shares in the top 10 on the 1v1 ladder, top 5 on 2v2 ladder and top 3 of the 3v3 ladder will each pay 0.01% (one ten thousandth, pay attention to decimals here) of the share's value, per day, in dividends, back to your bank's money supply.

For a simple example:

If I own 1 share of USA BICHES 1V1, tomorrow I will gain = (2229*0.0001) will give me $0.22 per day.

General advice:

A spreadsheet is your best friend. Keep it simple.

The realtime ladder does not pay dividends. This ladder could actually be the most lucrative, and safest, as newcomers are often underrated and if they continue to play games, their stock's value could rise by well over $100, each, overnight. I say this ladder is arguably safest because it takes three days of inactivity to drop out of the ladder, whereas a player on the other ladders could drop out at any time without warning and become unranked within hours. Thus, dividends would make the RT ladder a bit overpowered.

Check in on your progress at least once per day. If you don't, it's easy to get overwhelmed if you need to calculate a ton of dividends etc.

And, finally, invest wisely. Try to use this as a learning experience for real investment, if there are lessons to be found here.

Enjoy. :)

And all that said.

FK enters the market, naming his business the Forbidden Assets.

Starting funds @ $50,000.

I buy 10 shares of MISTER T 1V1, for $21,820 + $10 fees.

I buy 10 shares of SZE/GNUFF 3V3 $21,250 + $10 fees. A nice utility stock; hasn't budged in months from the top 3, and is probably one of the safest investments off of the RT ladder.

With $6,910 left in my bank, I buy 7 shares of RICOCHET RT for $6,006 + $10 fees.

Forbidden Assets end the day with $424 remaining in the bank, a total worth of $49,970, a change of -0.06%.

If you have a basic understanding of IMPORTXML and SPLIT, you could easily set up a spreadsheet to handle all the math except dividends.

vitriol enters the market with Propulsion Investments

Propulsion Investments makes the following investments:

5 shares of 1v1 Ladder ACL Tears (https://www.warlight.net/LadderTeam?LadderTeamID=2431)
$2167 * 5 + $10 in fees = $10845

3 shares of 1v1 Ladder Math Wolf (https://www.warlight.net/LadderTeam?LadderTeamID=162)
$1960 * 3 + $10 in fees = $5890

15 shares of 2v2 Ladder Nackickwind and Buns157 (https://www.warlight.net/LadderTeam?LadderTeamID=10175)
$2155 * 15 + $10 in fees = $32335

Cash invested: $49,070
Cash on hand: $930

^ Yep. This game is really just basic spreadsheet knowledge.

My own, for example:

The only equations I really needed was d83=(B83*C83) copied and pasted into d84, etc down the list, =(sum(D83:D86)) to show total funds and =((D87-50000)/50000) to calculate the change in funds since the beginning.

Easy.

Dangit, since when am I not a member on FK????

Just a sec...

Btw, your math is off:

If I own 1 share of USA BICHES 1V1, tomorrow I will gain = (2229*0.001) will give me $2.23 per day.

Should be:

If I own 1 share of USA BICHES 1V1, tomorrow I will gain = (2229*0.0001) will give me $0.22 per day.

This was the thing that I wanted someone with more program savvy and time than I to make a program for... problem was, I could not find anyone who has time.

In any case, if anyone wants to invest in some cheap stock... I do play at least one or two games on the rt ladder a day... and sometimes more... xD.

Lots of numbers just hurt my brain.

I'm much more of an art person than a programmer. Unless you're one of those peoplewho consider programing your art, in which case no.

What kind of art? Music? You seem like a part-time lyricist.

I do prefer musical art, but literature and visual art are also there.

I am not so shabby with guitar or piano, and i can sing moderately well. Really i just like working on better lyrics and catchier riffing.

Well i really like weezer, but i don't want to be some creepy tribute artist or w/e. I do have other influences like ac/dc korn and rem.

I guess I come up with alternative - pop rock - power pop - rock stuff. I think it wouldn't be a stretch to call some of it blues or punk.

I'm still kind of finding my sound, but i always got some buddies on speed dial that play a mean bass or rhythmic, and it's not overly difficult to find somebody who can keep a steady drum beat. So who knows, maybe a few years from now you'll see some obscure artist in an obscure bookstore thar sells obscure music. Or you'll see some new decent-good artist on the scene. Either way, i just like playing guitar and singing along to songs i know.

Little off-topic, but eh I don't care
