As you all know, yesterday, the United Kingdom , after a referendum, have voted the exit from the European Union, being the first country to do that.
http://i.imgur.com/TBrJtlm.pngYeap, that how the EU looked like before yesterday.28 Countries.
But in 2018, the UK leave will become official, leaving EU with 27 (or more in future ? )
http://i.imgur.com/QGBRdfX.pngI know some of you know about the problems that EU have (plus some of my compatriots hate about it ),but this action might start a chain of other actions that might (or will ) change the evolution of Europe.
The first effect was the depreciation of the pound sterling . The pound has fallen to levels not seen since 1985.The principal European exchanges have lost 960 billion euros. And more economic problems might appear.
On other side , the ‘divorce’ of UK from EU might start a wave of independence movements.
Is known that Scotland have tried to gain independence in 2014 , and failed. But after this action made by UK, the scots might try again to gain independence, now having another good reason to do so:Scotland want to remain part of EU (and this was showed in the votes). So in the future, we might see and independent Scotland.
Another change might be the unification of Northen Ireland with Ireland, having the same reasons as Scotland. And it seems that London want to be independent from UK.
Another small problem is Gibraltar, who wants to stay in both UK and EU.But if the problems degenerates, Gibraltar might become a Spanish territory.
After the Brexit, France and Netherlands might also want to make referendums , as Marine Le Pen (president of the National Front of France ) and Geert Wilders (leader of the Liberty Party in Netherlands )declared so.The idea also appeared in Italy, after the declaration of Matteo Salvini, leader of the North League.
http://i.imgur.com/iWoCW1J.pngLet’s say that might be Uk somewhere in 2018-2020.
After their example, Catalonia might gain independence too.And we all know that Catalonia is the only region that keeps Spain ‘’alive’’.A possible independence might doom Spain, and that will be followed by independence of the Basques(and maybe the independence of other regions in Spain)
http://i.imgur.com/HKaxJ0Y.pnghttp://i.imgur.com/Ecnnu5b.pngNow, let’s imagine this.
Let’s say that France and The Netherlands will hold the referendums, and somehow, one of them,or both , win it.This is going to crumble EU more , and soon, other states that have anti-EU movements will try to take power and hold referendums.
http://i.imgur.com/jpjL7nd.pngCzech Republic might follow next (after the declaration of the Czech Prime-Minister Bohuslav Sobotka in February this year ), after it Sweden, Italy and Hungary(more or less the last one.Only if EU will adopt ‘’more serious attitude’’).And there are rumors that Denmark would also follow this exemple.
And so, European Union will crumble. And maybe one of the most negative scenarios is that Russia will find the perfect moment to take control over a crumbled Europe(but I don’t think this is gonna to happen)
The events will stimulate right and far-right parties and movements to take a chance to work their way as leaders on their countries.
And another problem will be with the immigrant movement
http://i.imgur.com/TBnskCo.pngBut that’s my point of view on this problem.
As for my own country, 1 pound is now 5.6686 Ron (2 days ago, was 5.8884 ).And the economical effect is less problematic here.Even though, this might affect our commercial relations with UK, this is also an opportunity to look for other economic parteners.
The bad part is going for the Romanian workers in UK, which will be affected by the events which will occur after the Brexit.
This is what i think.
