Ekaterinoslav -> Yekaterinoslav
sometimes Russian E is written in English as E, even if it's at the beginning of the word, but it's generally bad practice. Yekaterinburg -> Екатеринбург (also begins with E). and here Екатринослав -> Yekaterinoslav.
Then in 1918-1926 the Ukrainan name was official and it probably began with Є which is more like ye.
also you likely know better than me but Stassburg -> Straßburg?
