@pushover:
I wish i knew it. Rating is calculated the same way as ratings for warlight ladders - by program described in wiki (
http://wiki.warlight.net/index.php/Ladder_Ranks_and_Ratings). I've checked some variants and for me it looks like it can give odd results when there are no way to compare players - with such games:
A defeated B,
C defeated D,
E defeated F
we can't say A = C = E. In this scenario inputing results in different order gives different ratings. But, when we make comparing players possible (ie. by adding player G(nuffone) and his games:
G defeated A,
G defeated C,
G defeated E
ratings looks exactly as we can expect(G with the highest rating, followed by A, C, E all with same ratings, followed by B, D, F also with the same ratings).
So i suppose, that there is simply not enough data for reliable calculation(thus the minimum number of games for getting rank). But it's only my guess and i won't pretend i understand exactly how it's calculated (there is really serious math behind that;)). Anyway, I've asked the same question to Fizzer earlier today. Maybe he knows - if not, we can only put faith in Remi Coulom's math and coding skills :P
