In my opinion, a clan that gets booted a lot and screws up with their lineups and such can be forced to either take it more serious or be thrown out for the next season. However, a clan not being able to keep up with the others from a strategic point of view should not be punished for that imo.

We should give Olympus props, they won 1 game more than expected. Just kidding ;). In all seriousness though, I agree that a clan should be somewhat serious going to Clan League.

FCC should be the winners of Guiroma 2v2 since we have the head to head vs. Hydra right?

regarding Olympus, i don't see what the problem is.

The format of this new CL rather encourages strategic line-ups.
I would imagine that Olympus looked at the format and decided to totally punt this first round, giving them a much better chance of performing well in the D division.

I'm sure there are teams that have used their best players in an effort to qualify to division C.
You may well find that Olympus will perform much better in the next stage whilst one or two others will struggle.

I doubt they will do much better in division D, but I understand your reasoning. Some clans will be relatively weaker going to division C, but some will arguably be better going in the upper division. Some clans clearly wanted to make sure they get to division C, while other seemed to be holding back. It will be interesting to see what strategy will pay off the most in the end.

Congrats(???) to Olympus for being the first to finish all their Q games, ending in a grand total of 3 points from their one win on strat ME vs Poon. Crazy stuff.

On the topic of seriousness going into Clan League, what if there was some sort of minimum points required in able to be eligible to apply back to the next CL? Like if a team doesn't manage say, 15 points overall, they can't re-apply. This still gives the (potentially) underachieving team a chance in the D round of CL to gain those points back. For example, on the gameplay side of things (not commenting on the non-rule reading) clans like FBG or German Warlords could have been in a similar spot as Olympus, had they been dropped into a group as tough as Q3.

I don't exactly have high hopes for them, but their odds will, in theory, be higher to win more games in D2.

Q1 has hit a turning point, with all games either created or completed at this point. I guess I roll the credits here :P

Shoutout to MotD and Beren for taking the time and effort to put this all together and create the clot. I thank you greatly for the hard work that you put into this, especially to make my job, and that of all scorekeepers, easy.

Thank You to ACME for correcting the mistakes. Otherwise it would not be so close.

Thanks to all of those who commented on this thread. Much obliged to keep it active around here.

Thanks to all other scorekeepers, for correcting me when I was wrong.

Thanks to everyone who participated in clan league to help make it the success that it is.

Finally, one heart-felt thanks to BADA, who is going on a period of long inactivity at the very least. You will be missed in the FCC, and you brought a dynamic to our team in 2v2 guiroma that I am very thankful for. To be honest, I would have had no idea what I would have done for the roster had you not volunteered to play for us.

Good luck all in the remaining games!

May the aura forever guide you.

Data Summary:

Horse Race:

Progression:

Due to the errors in the clot allotting wins, the progression can no longer be displayed accurately. :(.

Overview:
Week 6 sees another milestone, with all games either created or completed. In addition, there is only 1 2v2 guiroma game remaining, with the rest being 3v3 deadman's rome. This goes to show just how incredibly quick the Q1 division has been. This will likely be the first division to complete all of their games.

Clan by Clan:

ACME:
Correcting for ACME, we once again still see a very tight race between the top three clan, even though the games are nearly finished! ACME still has something to prove to Hydra after their loss to Poon Sqaud, but have happily chunked points away from FCC already, which keeps things close at the top.

FCC:
At this point, FCC has clinched promotion. Even if they lose both to hydra and poon sqaud, either hydra's max score will have to go to 63, or ACME's max score to 64. Considering that FCC is at 65 points, then, they have clinched a promotion spot.

FBG:
FBG and Poon Sqaud are currently fighting for 4th and 5th. FBG is a bit behind, and needs to win out, and poon squad loose out, to clinch 4th. This means they have to beat ACME and Poon Squad, and hope poon sqaud loses to FCC. Not impossible, but could be hard.

Hydra:
This is where things get interesting. If hydra loses to FCC and wins against ACME, and then ACME wins their 2v2 vs Poon Squad, they tie. The h2h is also tied, and so is tournament wins. A playoff ensues. If hydra wins against FCC and loses to ACME, the h2h is in favor of ACME, ACME promotes. If ACME wins its 3v3, and drops its 2v2, then ACME is one point behind Hydra, Hydra promotes. Indeed, a very complex that can go a multitude of ways.

The Poon Squad:
Poon sqaud just needs to win 1 game or have FBG lose 1 game to clinch 4th. Otherwise, they could end up with fifth.

Olympus:
3 is a lucky number guys. Olympus set the example whillist getting only 3 points. This guys, is how you build a roster, compete, and win games. Well it was enough to win one game, so I guess it was okay in the end for these folks. Heck, maybe that is all they wanted to get out of Cl9. Don't judge a book by its cover. Especially books with blank pages and water damage. You thought the book might have been okay, but... well, you get the point.

Game of the Week: https://www.warlight.net/MultiPlayer?GameID=12983747 (Olympus vs ACME), ACME won.

This was shaping up to be a pretty incredible game. Olympus was playing everything right. And then Nemisis got booted. Poor Olympus. Ah well. The matchup was pretty cool up unitl the boot, and that is just enough to push this to game of the week.

Its not possible for Hydra and ACME to tie. In your example Hydra ends up with 63 points and ACME 64.
Hydra most likely has to win our last two games to get to group C

As a note, the Hydra team just asked the ACME team to surrender on 3v3 RoR so that win should be coming in any day now. So it comes down to ONLY the 3v3 RoR against FCC for Hydra. I have said that game is important for a reason, as I knew awhile ago our team was beating ACME. Hydra beats FCC, Hydra promotes. FCC beats Hydra, ACME promotes. Simple as that. Because ACME should win their last 2v2 Guiroma game and should end this stage with either 64, its on Hydra if they get that last win to finish second with 68 or third with 63.

As to the format, its a pity that either Hydra or ACME should play in D1/D2, a useless division chalk full of clans far beneath them in skill as to be entirely pointless. And as this seeding process has shown, did it do any good? Were the divisions roughly equal? No. Did seeding give an advantage to anyone? No. Does it matter if competing in D1/D2 for a seed that doesn't exist because no one has any idea what is happening in this staged format? No. So do seeds actually matter? In principle yes, in reality no.

The lower divisions got blown up for something that is inferior. I never liked the staged format, the main arguments for the staged format were to benefit the new clans at the expense of the old clans, and to 'entertain' the clans in Divisions A and B. So I am here to say get rid of this staged format. We can't go back to the old format, that ship has sailed. But I don't see how putting clans through a meat grinder of a staged format is a good idea. If not a staged format, I have no idea. Clan League seems like the format is entirely from top to bottom rotten. And after 9 seasons, it might be time to reboot the league from the beginning.

Not only is it quite disrespectful to the other clans but i also think you are wrong. 101st and statisticians both have good players for sure and the fact that 7th heaven crushed Q2 doesn't mean the rest is crap. I think it says more about the quality of 7th heaven.

At the end of the season only the top2 of stage 2 will promote to B. If a clan cannot finish top2 in the first group stage its highly doubtful they will finish top2 in the second group stage where the best clans of all groups come together.

You can say group D1/D2 is useless but if you want to avoid such a strong first group next season you better perform well next stage. Personally I think its just bad luck cause there will always be a group where a strong clan will not make it through. But do you think it would have been better if you were together with apprentice and TJC? Then again you have 3 strong clans where 1 will not make it. Q2 is crushed by 7th heaven and imo hydra wouldn't have made a difference in that so there you will fight for second place as well and CORP has proven before they are not the diplo clan anymore they used to be.

If you had the old groups then group C might have been FCC, ACME, TJC, HYDRA, 7th heaven and Apprentice. Do you think you had more chance then to finish top2?

It was because seeding did not accurately represent clan skill levels. I suspect that with this CL, we will have better represented seeds and seedings, making the division more balanced for CL10
