Monthly Tour Race Update - 10-11/2019

  • I didn't write Tour Race post in the last month, but I made the race google docs, so now I copy here it too (just for the records):

  • Above you can see the official 2019 Race Rankings, with only the finished 2019 events.
    But I have updated the actual results from the 19 ongoing events too, and here are the current (based on the status of 8th of December) live TOP25:



    This gives a better picture so I did my analysis based on this live Rankings.

      Well, it seems that the Tour Dominator hangs up his race keyboard/smart phone, and try to become a casual WZ player :((((

      (my only hope, that he won't be able, because his competing blood will be irremeable ;) :P )
      Anyway, since September he has stopped to join to the Tour events, which means he gave up the 2019 Race points of one Grand Slam (New 1v1 ladder), two Masters (China, EA&O) and a few 500 and 250 Series events. Despite these, he still has got a big (1455!) point advantage, and he is still alive in four ongoing events too! A Masters final (Vulcano) and semifinal (Phobia), a 500 Series semifinal and a 250 Series final, where from he can gain 1430 additional points!
      So the question is, he will be able to secure his Year End 2019 first place (being the first player to double this title) despite those non-join handicaps?
      And another question, whether he will be able to resist to join to the Tour Finals 2020?
      For his only missing Tour title, and likely for his second Year End trophy (see below) ;)

      It seems that Timi will have a strong say in answering the question above :)
      He has got the current second position, with a big point lead (1650) against the third Rak (so Timi seems the only one who has a real chance), and although he has got a big current point disadvantage (1455) against Kicorse, but he joined to the New 1v1 ladder GS (already in SF) and the two Masters (China (2 win), EA&O) which were missed by the Tour Dominator (=4000 points (3235 additionally to his current 5900) possible advantage for Timi), plus he is still in the two Masters where Kicorse is alive too, so the finals of Volcano and Phobia Masters could be very important regarding the race about who will be the first player with two year end first place title on the Tour! ;)
      (Poor casual WZ player Kicorse :P (but I hope he will give a way to his racing blood brother at least during these two finals ;) ))

      Maybe they still have the mathematical chance to win the Year End title, but it really would be a big miracle imo.
      But!
      They have already (long time ago) qualified to the 2020 Tour Final, so they will have a chance to win the most important Tour trophy! What's more, they still have a chance to win the first Tour Final trophy (and will try to double it immediately :)), because they are both in the semifinal of Tour Finals 2019 (and playing against each other, what a nice fight :) )

      Gnuffone/FlyingBender was reborn (or registered a new account ;) )
      A very nice Tour debut bro!
      Well, despite having missed the beginning of the year (including two Grand Slams and two Masters!) he still has got a chance to get the Year End trophy! :O Ok, it won't be easy at all (it would be very hard ;) ) but he has bigger chance than the two Tour veterans (Rak and FSG) - he is still alive in the two running Grand Slam, plus one Masters and he has many spaces to improve his points in the smaller event area too.
      And, he have qualified himself to the Tour Finals 2020 event already, congratulations! (so chance for additionally 1500 points too :) )
      Very exciting, a new pretender arrived, gogo Hergul! :D
      (And with him, the France-Italy ninja alliance will dominate the Tour? We will see :D )
    • schwarz, Kurdistan49, GuestNWHSzY, malakkan and MoD
      Based on the last year Tour Final qualification limit (~ 2000 points), these players have already qualified themselves, congratulations!
      What a strong list!
    • Buns, Jo Jo, alexclusive, Turkish, Wini, Xenophon
      At the moment, they have got qualified positions (TOP16).
      Wow! What a strong list too! :) And an army of Lynx :)
    • So those are the TOP16 players who would play on the Tour Final 2020 if it started now.
      But won't started! :) Still we have two ongoing Grand Slams, four Masters and 15 smaller events!
      So still there are many space to get a qualification, go for it! :)

December was very fertile month, we have nine (!) finished events, congrats time!
(spoiler: Hergul (*2), Kicorse, Timi, Buns, MoD, Kurdistan, Rufus, Rak - what a sronk list!)

Although with a little delay, but I have created the 2020 Tour schedule.
You can find it below or in the constantly updated future schedules section (https://www.warzone.com/Forum/262655-awp-world-tour-magazine?Offset=4&offset=4)

You can see two major changes:
  • No more time segregated seasons (Hard, Clay, Grass)
    Instead of time segregation we distributed the different type of templates evenly over the months.
  • There will be "only" 35 fixed templates, the remained not fixed 15 templates will be chosen year after year.
    For this purpose, I will create a template discussion topic at the beginning of every month, where you can "vote"/"choose" from a given template list or even you can propose new templates too. This won't be a real voting and the AWP Admin will be who choose the template in the end, but very based on your opinions written in those topics!
    I will create the first template discussion topic for the January 27th event soon.

    This gives a better picture so I did my analysis based on this live Rankings.
    • The first question: who will be the Year-end No.1 player?
      The race for it is very tight!
      It seems Timi can take advantage of the possibility that Kicorse hasn't joined to the last few 2019 major events.
      As you can see, Kicorse currently has 7755 points but Timi closely follows him with 7620 points!
      But Timi is in the Finals of New 1v1 Ladder GS and China Masters, if he will be able to win those two finals, then he will gain 800+400 points additionally and win the Race with 8820 points, because Kicorse non-joined to these events at all. (actually Timi won the race if he win one of those two games)
      But whatever the outcome of those two matches, the Year-end No.1 title will be decided in the 2020 Tour Finals!
      If Timi will win both remained major event finals, then will be enough if he will reach the final of the 2020 Tour Finals, and will get the Year-end No.1 title (because if Kicorse would win that final event, still 66 points would be missed for his Year-end title).
      Anyway, it seems that we will have a very exciting Tour Finals in 2020! ;)
    • The second question: who will be the 16 participants?
      The following players already have qualified to the Tour Finals 2020: Kicorse, Timi, Hergul, Rak, FSG, Kurdistan, MoD, Schwarz, Suschel, GuestNWHSzY, Malakkan, Buns and Wini
      But there are still fights for the remained three places!
      Currently, Jo Jo, Alex and Turkish own these qualification places (both from Lynux :O )
      And the following six players still has got (theoretical) chance for the qualification: Milly, Stales78, tornado, AI, PJ, Lew
      Lets see the chances:
      • Jo Jo
        His fate is in his own hands, because he is still playing in two events. And there is very very little chance that he will not qualify, only case if Milly wins China Masters AND Stales wins EA&O Masters AND Alex wins Red Dead Redemption 500 AND he doesn't won the Hannibal finals againts FSG or two games in Post-Melt :D
        Ok, we can easy say that he is already qualified in practice ;)
      • Alex
        He is still playing in the Red Dead Redemption finals againts tornado, but his fate isn't in his own hands. Theoretical he can be 17th even if he would win that tourney. But in practice, he has got a big chance for qualification even if he lose against tornado, because two of the following players should win their running event for prevent this (Milly (China), Stales (EA&O), tornado (EA&O), AI (Post-Melt))
        So still a chance for not qualifying but very low.
      • Turkish
        He is the current 16th placed player, and he isn't playing on any running 2019 events, so his current 1510 points will be the (minimum) limit to break for the qualification.
        Six players has a chance to break it, so I think it will break (although there is a small chance they won't :) )
        • Milly and Stales need two more wins for this (Masters finals minimum, now both of them are in the QFs)
        • Tornado is in a Masters (QF) and in a 500 Series event (F), he needs to win one of those event and minimum the finals in the other one (so three more wins he needs)
        • AI, PJ and Lew only chances if they win they running events (AI Post-Melt QF, 3 more wins - PJ EA&O Masters SF, two more wins - Lew China Masters QF, three more wins)
