Till when do i have to be in the top 16 to participate in the knock out?
For Tour Finals qualification, you have to be in the TOP16 when the annual Tour Race is finished.
And Tour Races usually end in the spring (when the last tournament of the given Tour Race ends)
But "Till when" is not the proper question, better one "How much points do you need?"
Because you can reach the required point much sooner than the end of the season.
So far, 2000 points have been enough to qualify.
The 16th player had got 2075 points in 2018 and 1510 points in 2019.
And the 16th player has got 1755 points on the Rolling Rankings now.
So I would say if you reach 2000 points, you likely are qualified.
Not 100%, because the qualification limit is depend on the point distribution.
- For example, if the TOP3-5 players finished with many points (8000+) on a Tour Race, it would mean that the points would be taken away from the others, so fewer points would be enough to qualify.
- But if the same TOP20 player were the best in every tournament and the points distribution was equal among these players in the end, it would take more points to qualify than 2000.
- However, if the points distribution was equal among the TOP50 (or more) players in the end, it would take less points to qualify than 2000
- etc.
I am lazy to calculate the theoretical qualification limit, but again,
if you reach 2000 points, you likely are qualified, and the more points you reach than 2000 points the more likely you are to qualify. And it's only up to you when you reach the 2000 (or more) points ;).
