The position is open to anyone and everyone. In order to apply, please create a mail thread with myself, MW and Ko, simple stating "I would like to be a part of the ethics committee". One of us will respond to that email with a number of questions that we kindly ask that you respond to.

Following the application process, the plan is to have clan representatives vote. The details of how that vote will be carried out will be posted at a later time. Furthermore, we do reserve the right to reach out to players if we believe them to be a good candidate and/or they are requested by several players. We don't expect to do that a single time, as all candidates will hopefully come across this post, that will be shared at all major discussions arenas. We will accept applications for 10 days, however certain aspects of the process may move forward earlier. (Such as posting a list of applicants so that CL Representatives may discuss the applications as well as whether the panel should consist of 3 or 5 players)

You can customise the playerIDs, subject and message is you want to. subject and message are optional. To not include them, set them to false (i.e. subject=false)
playerIDsOrURLs accepts player ids such as 69603 or a full player URL such as 'https://www.warzone.com/Profile?p=856960317' as long as they are in the [] brackets. Each player URL or id must be separated by commas (,). There isn't a limit of the amount of players that can be in the message group unless Warzone places a limit. Player URLs have to be in a single or double quotes. Player ids must not be in quotes.
subject and message will write themselves literally how they are. For example, if you wanted a multi-line message, enter `first line
second line
third line`

I would like to apply for this wonderful job with this amazing co-workers! What speaks for me doing a good job is that I'm elitist and I know it, and also I'm very down to earth humble. One more good thing is that I'm very productive and drama free.

My earlier life experience who makes me great for the job:

* Working as a slut since 2016. Might take some time at nights but overall I'm very active and have good stories to tell to smooth the hyenas after our biased decisions.

* Playing CL with Plat, so I very have a great patience.

* I work as a referee so I m good at punishing people who don't follow the rules.

* I'm also a teacher so I'm great at favoriting people and clans when needed.

* I have watched some Paradise Hotel so I can backstab people when I want.

So other than this I think I should be given this amazing opportunity because I know I have the community behind me on this, I am very beloved by my fellow players and people look up to me since I have accomplished many great things on WZ, like the tournament win on CL div A if you remember? I was also the one that broke MOTD's 25 games win streak on the MDL, and also Im 13-2 in CL div A for a total. So I think you dont even need to consider the other volunteers, you have the best one right here in front of you!

Oh yeah I almost forgot, I am a very humble person!

I am not going to "apply" because I don't believe in the premise of that process. Being on the ethics committee should not be a role that one desires. Nor should it be something that people should state their case for (if we don't know a person well enough, they should not be on this panel).

It should be a position that OTHER people want YOU to do (because you bring something they need).

So, if the CL desires ME to help with this, I will. I value the CL greatly and have given many years to it. But I don't seek out leadership in it. If I can help, I gladly will...but only if someone else wants me (not me wanting IT).

Yes. While being nominated is great, part of the reason of signing up is to see an official statement that they are willing to do it.

Sorry, but you can't force someone to do it. Hence they need to sign up. In the end it is up to the clans to pick who they want. Part of the process with signing up is that they are asked some questions, which will help towards the "I don't know you" problem.

There is a vote from Clan Representatives to elect them. To me it sounds like you want this excat process that we are doing here. Not sure what part of the premise you are not agreeing with.

From my experience, having a position where people volunteer instead of being nominated always leads to unqualified individuals running an organization (I don't know who has privately expressed interest, but from this thread, you can see it's 100% correct so far). People who think they can do this job to the extent that they volunteer themselves have no idea of what the job really entails, otherwise they would never even think about volunteering.

@TBest, I don't think you're understanding what Chris means. There is a difference between "volunteered" and "voluntold," the latter of which is ideally how CL organization should proceed. Those who are "voluntold" are done so because people believe they are capable, not because they believe it themselves.

Of course these people cannot be forced to accept an organizational position. However, by nominating capable people and giving these people a choice of accepting, you have the ability to control the pool of candidates and ensure you only get people who are motivated and qualified to have such positions.

On the subject of the voting process: it should be up to clan representatives to only elect a CL "Leader" or "Main Organizer." If the majority are satisfied with the choice, then they should also be satisfied with how this leader structures CL and appoints others to help him organize it. As is, with every single CL-Organization candidate having equal consideration and being voted on by every single clan representative (most of whom should not even be considered), the entire process will take too long, considering everything else that has to be done to get CL prepared for future seasons.

I'd say send a notification to the people who already were volunteering / nominated. If people already expressed their interest then it would be a shame to lose willing people because of an extra step.

@everyone: if you want to apply, send a PM as described in the first post, don't say it in this topic.

@AG: without going into details, I can say that so far there isn't much overlap between the troll/clueless applications in this topic and the serious applications we received through PM so far. I expect this trend to hold.

Reply to what Chris brings up: please by all means do nominate other people who you think will do the job well, and ask them to apply! I personally think one of the best arguments a candidate can use to get the clans to vote for him/her, is being asked by multiple people from different clans.

As TBest mentions, we do ask a few questions and I'm sure that the answers of the candidates should provide sufficient guidance for the clans in their voting. The effort to answer these already is an extra hurdle that should weed out those who underestimate it or don't understand what it entails. Additionally, the audit committee will reject all applications that we feel are not serious or where the candidate does not have the basic qualifications. (we hope we don't have to do this of course as we want to interfere as limited as possible).

We can only hope that the clan representatives will choose the best candidates from the remaining pool of candidates, but in reality this is rarely the case anyway because (1) you can't predict in advance who would do the job best and (2) people do sometimes prefer popular outsiders over boring technocrats in any election.
The second doesn't need to be bad in this case. It may be better to have someone who is more loved by the community in the ethics panel as this person may also have the charisma to avoid more drama and keep everyone happy.

Finally, with some people saying TBest should just pick, or people should be nominated by the clans: there is nothing that stops a clan during voting to privately consult TBest on his preference or check this and other topics on which names were mentioned by others.
Note: The audit panel itself will however never publicly endorse any candidate to remain independent.

TL;DR version: Yes, it's not ideal, but we have reason to believe it will work.
