So i been wondering. After starting to play some ffa games instead of teamgames, i started to see alot of people which really have a terrible pain in their but when they lose. Instead just surrendering and move on to the next game, they start to run the timer down to 10 secounds or below to stall the game as much as possible. When playing with Local distribution this can extend the game for hours, when also spending 5 min each round, and playing to last square. The last few days i started to report this shit, i havent gotten any personal answer yet, however i can see that "if people are slow to take their turns, you can just join a game with lower time on)". Well fuck no, this isnt anything about having a problem with the time that its allowed to use, the problem is when some kid who still think he have all the time in the world, stops by and try to get a win, simply by dragging the game out to forever.
Imo this shit shouldnt even give a warning, it should be a IP ban straight away. When im on here, im here to join a game of a risk style og game, not to sit and play a gam thats over, cause some little teenage boy who never got laid, decided to waste a few hour of my time. And no, i wont surrender, that will only gonna make them do it even more games in the future.
But im making this post cause now i want a direct answer from someone. Is this shit allowed? Is this something you can do without punishment? Cause if so, im afraid my warlight days is over, im clearly not the target group then, and the teenagers can start to waste eachothers time.
I dont even get why anyone would do it, i mean. I can just add my units fast in couple of minute and then watch a tv show, while the kid have to sit every single round and watch the clock go all the way down so he waste my time, but yet not get booted. Its simply sick, and i think there is someone out there who should seriously go see a doctor, or get their parrents to buy them some friends or something

"The last few days i started to report this shit, i havent gotten any personal answer yet," as far as i know this isnt reportable. if the boot timer is 5 minutes then they are allowed to take 5 minutes for their turn.. if its nice or not is another story.. *And i dont see why you just dont BL them.. then if you should create a game you cant play with people like them*
"Imo this shit shouldnt even give a warning, it should be a IP ban straight away" there arent any IP bans and they wont get a warning for it.
"When im on here, im here to join a game of a risk style og game, not to sit and play a gam thats over, cause some little teenage boy who never got laid, decided to waste a few hour of my time. And no, i wont surrender, that will only gonna make them do it even more games in the future." This if your problem then. you rather dont surrender to get 1 stupid win in a game and waste your time waiting rather then just surrender and do something usefull with your time. again.. BL them is to easy for you?...
"I dont even get why anyone would do it, i mean. I can just add my units fast in couple of minute and then watch a tv show, while the kid have to sit every single round and watch the clock go all the way down so he waste my time, but yet not get booted." they will also just watch TV or youtube. there is a sound when only 30seconds remain.
""if people are slow to take their turns, you can just join a game with lower time on)". Well fuck no, this isnt anything about having a problem with the time that its allowed to use, the problem is when some kid who still think he have all the time in the world, stops by and try to get a win, simply by dragging the game out to forever." well its true.. if you dont want a game to take forever join a game with a lower boot time.. easy is that.. and still.. BL is a thing you know? Its dumb that you dont want games to take forever BUT in the same time dont want to join games with lower boot time.
"Its simply sick, and i think there is someone out there who should seriously go see a doctor, or get their parrents to buy them some friends or something" you seem to me to be fairly toxic guy.. there are so many sollutions for your problem.. BL (Blacklisting) people.. joining games with lower boot time... but you refuse tho things and want them to get banned.. imo the problem here is yourself.

You really think i dont blacklist people? jesus christ. I even put level requirement on my games so they cant just join with a new user.
That doesnt change the fact that its a tendency that more and more start doing that shit. Blacklisting a player doesnt give me 2 hour back etc, blacklisting 10 players doesnt give me 20 hours back.
If there is no consequenses more and more people will do it, you think they care if they get blacklisted 100 times? there´s alot of games out there anyway. I cant really see how joining a game with lower boot time would help me. With local distribution it can take time to put on all ur units, and it can get pretty stressed if you only have 3 min late in the game. Beside that, it doesnt chance the fact that they would still be able to stall the game if they wanted. so what am i gonna do, play 1 minute games so someone get booted by accident every game? thats not the experience im looking for either
But ok, i guess its me thats the problem, not the guys who´s fetish is to try and stall a game as much as possible. Wow i must say im really surprised if thats the general attitude.

Short answer: Yes, this shit is allowed. Yes, you can blacklist these people.
I blacklist stallers because I don't even want them on my team. I am at a point now were, I don't meet stallers in real time games. Real time stalling is so much worse than multi-day stalling because you have to stay by your computer or risk getting booted.
imo, if you play to elimination in a real time game then that should be an automatic 1 day IP ban. Fizzer could even automate the process. Its a disgrace.

@rogue
Wow thats simply absurd. I cant believe they actually letting this exist. This is really bad work from the admin team imo, how on earth can they let people like that "come first" when it comes down to it.
So those players are actually more important, than those hundred of players who join to have a nice time with a game, and instead up frustrated cause there is another staller in the game-

No where in the rules they say people can't play until they want and even until elimination. Even if it is frustrating, in particular in real-time games, early or less early surrenders are always going to be at the discretion of the players playing the game.
Maybe the developers of the game could create some sort of settings where if you would have let's say 70% more income than your opponent + X amount of troops already deployed, it could end the game idk, that could be a cool setting option if feasible.

so you want a rule that people arent allowed to stall in other words they arent allowed to use there full boot time? that means if i have a boot time of 5 minutes and my opponent takes up more than 4 minutes i can report him and he will get INSTANTLY IP BANNED.. thats just dumb...

No, but you doing a really good job putting words in my mouth. There is a reason for the 5 min time. And sure it can be frustrating if people are slow every round, but if its a good game i dont really care, and there shall be time to think etc. Nothing worse than getting a good game ruined cause someone get booted.
However when a guy sit with 5 income in the other side off the map, playing for 20 additional rounds, even saying in chat he is just trying to stall the game, trying to make you surrender in chat etc. How on earth can Warlight accept such behavior? There is no way you can compare those 2 scenarioes, even though you try with all your heart.
But i must also say i wonder which kind of people that actually salute that kind of behavior

@mtuborg I find that calling people out for stalling will only make them stall more. Even innocuous phrases like "having an inflated rank is bad" will trigger some people like in the game below. https://www.warzone.com/MultiPlayer?GameID=15831177NOTE: This is an MD game though and not RT. Another option is to have banked boot time. That way you can take a lot of time to think through picks and then take 3 minute turns.

play to elimination is annoying and i'm sure this is not the first time you encounter that ... I myself have encounter multiple times on games (especially with low prereqs) ... but there isn't any existing mechanic to stop it so ... this is the kind of risk you have to bear when playing real time games really ... if you can just add your units fast in couple of minute and then watch a tv show ... they you clearly have the time to waste ...

@Cowboy The game I linked isn't about shitting on Ralph. I just wanted to provide an example of people who flip out when they are called out on stalling. Also, I think the reasons Ralph gives are reasonable even if it is an overreaction. Also RT stalling is much worse than MD stalling.

Game stalling is only against ladder rules. It’s not against the rules to stall in other games. Like others have said, join games with lower boot times or invite others to play. I dont even get why anyone would do it Becuase they’re annoyed that you’ve won. They want to get an easy win by testing how long you can wait. I did this 5 years ago on a couple of games and shortly realised it achieved nothing. Back then, I didn’t know that there was a surrender button, so I always played to the end. Another option is to have banked boot time. That way you can take a lot of time to think through picks and then take 3 minute turns. So like a “clocked” game? The downside of this is that you could run out of time when you’re taking turns. Even if this was going to be against the rules, it should only apply to RT games and not MD because in MD, the extra time is needed for when your busy or working. There’s definitely a reason why trying to report someone for “They’re slow to take their turn” or “They ain’t taking their turn” isn’t against the rules. These kind of reports will be ignored for the reason that it simply isn’t against the rules - it even says when you report a player that you can’t report them for taking too long to take their turn. From the report pages: Warzone can't force people to play, and you should not report players for not playing. If you find yourself waiting on other players longer than you'd like, please create or join games with lower boot times so you can boot them and continue your game. If you find games moving more slowly than you'd like, try creating or join games with lower boot times so you can boot the players and continue your game. However, you should not report them.
You may be interested in enabling the Banking Boot feature, as this penalizes players who are consistently slow and gives extra time to players who are usually fast but need extra time occasionally. See Booting on the Wiki for more information.

Thought that was a rule. Proved myself wrong. In https://www.warzone.com/Forum/288945-official-ladder-rules-now-effect, there was going to be a rule that disallowed stalling but the community was unable to agree on how to determine when someone is stalling.
