In the beginning glicko might be a bit unstable, since everyone is rated equally, meaning there are many under and overrated players on the ladder. This process should likely take a few days at least depending on how active the ladder will be. Also you should know that it is not bayesian elo, 3/3 might give a worse score than 6/9 in the beginning. I'm positive Fizzer will oversee rating process, but if the algorithm is indeed TrueSkill, it should all become more clear after those first 15-20 games.

That is why I said that example is probably a bug. You can also see his TrueSkill mean is much lower than yours, but rating is much higher, that basically shows that it is a bug since you both have similar game sample.

The ratings do look odd. It's possible the ratings are messed up due to the early bug. Not to worry though, since I can easily re-run all games from scratch through the algorithm to figure out what they should be and then correct them. So all games you're playing now will count.

I will do this later tonight and correct the ratings if necessary.

Love the concept, but local deployments will be very bad real time. It can take a long time just to keep ferrying troops to the front (and deploying in all bonuses). you'll waste 4 minutes doing that and only have a minute to consider any strategy. It also takes many more clicks/steps when watching the history, unless you just skip to end (but you still want to see some of the deployments/movements).

I really don't think Multiattack or LD should be in real time ladder. Just my two cents.

and yeah.... local deployment in real time is not a good idea because i just spent the whole hour playing a single game vs gambler.....

Maybe make autoboot 10 minutes at least on LD maps, with 30+ income 5 minutes is barely enough time to watch turn and commit orders.

An interesting options to add would be to select your top preferred templates (should be a minimum of how many to select) and the system would try to pare you up with someone with similar preferred templates.

10 minute auto boot? No way. games would take forever. Not all of us are kids with nothing better to do all day.

Lost my first game? 1500 down to 53 rating. I'm going to go cry in a corner now.

It was a cool idea until I was auto picked Canada, Caucasus, and East Russia on my first game. Starting in three five-income territories caused me to lose and my rank drop by about 1450 points.
